Quite an impressive thing! That holds pretty some potential. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

libaxrt seems to prevent the display of most icons in Xfce. After a reboot the panel was about half blank, and most of the menu icons--and all the the icons in Thunar--went missing as well. After I uninstalled libaxrt they all came back.
It's still an impressive system, so I will eventually get back to it. I will have to install a fresh copy of LM on a separate partition so that it doesn't mess up my daily system.

Thanks for the report. I'm quite interested on what is going on there as libaxrt only "executes" when an application is executed. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

Ok, I mention Wayland because it isn’t X11, of course ;)
This isn’t really that much different than running AROS hosted, is it? A side from window interleaving, I mean. Do the “amiga” programs share memory, or are they each given their own little “amigaos” to run on? _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Speaking of Wayland: if anyone is interested and missed it, this was recently published:

Are you using LM 19.3 with Cinnamon for the development system? I want to make sure I install the right version.

There are some notable differences:
Each amiga program is a separate Linux process, meaning the have separate address space. Since these are Linux programs, they can combine AxRuntime (Amiga API) with existing Linux side libraries. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

I'm impressed. Amiga continue to let talented programmers prove their impressive skill.
Could be possibile to use an IDE on linux to develop for plain Amiga?

It is possible, but it depends on adoption and demand. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

To be honest being able to build an Amiga program and have it running under Windows open more possibilities than Linux. Under Windows you could sell it. |

Windows can run Linux programs via WSL, so this already works. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

| This project is worth nothing crap. Nobody need exec, dos with all its flaws but not compatible with old 68k apps. First thing that should be done after breaking compability with old 68k apps is to add memory protection. AxRuntime has not memory protection and has not compatybility with 68k apps it means AxRuntime is worth nothing crap. Stop this shit and do something worth of use.

Maybe you should follow your own advice? I really think you haven't a clue what AxRuntime is about. It´s (beside other things) a way to develop AmigaOS-applications on Linux and using modern development tools for this. What's so bad about that? It has also value for AmigaOS4.
And for your information: deadwood did (beside other things) Gallium3D for AROS. He also updated Odyssey for AROS (which was a benefit for MorphOS and AmigaOS4, too). So he already did many things with "worth of use" for the Amiga-community. What did you contribute again?
@deadwood: Great project, good to see you back! Do you remember our Amiga Future interview in Lask/Poland ?

Thanks, I didn't know about this. Seems like an acceptable way to have the "amiga" programs on Windows until "Windows-native" version of AxRuntime is available. _________________ https://www.axrt.org |

Be patient with my friend ppcamiga1. He is blinded by hatred, so he couldn't grasp the working of AxRuntime. This is why he went back into his comfort zone to repeat the mantra about "memory protection" and "compatybility". Recently he already started getting better, but unfortunately he relapsed into talking about excrement again. We have to be understanding about his issues, and not enrage him even further with trigger-words. Last edited by BSzili on 11-May-2020 at 06:18 PM.
