@AmigaOldskooler

I'm interested in the AnimPlayer release! How well does Deluxe Paint V work under AmigaOS 4.x? After all these years it seems that AmigaNG might 'nearly' cater for my animation workflow! Someone just needs to create an Amiga iMovie-clone or update Scala for PPC and I'll never need to switch on a Classic 'miggy or Mac again to animate!

Don't forget my RNOAnim software either if you're interested about animations on NG ;)

I wish I could find an English translation of Martina Hřebcová’s report. Looks quite interesting with graphs comparing the boards and performance.

@Trixie

Well since you asked so nicely... THIS demonstrates how I like to work quite well! I like using my sample based music to inspire Deluxe Paint animation and then I stitch it together with iMovie after conversion to .avi and then .mov files.

Since I missed out on Amiga trackers and never used my Atari ST for music (my parents bought a cheaper keyboard in the range without the MIDI ports and touch sensitive keys), I feel at home with Music Generator 2 on the PS2! It has a Codemasters USB sampler that works quite well!

There's a PPC version of Hollywood Designer which will probably satisfy your multimedia authoring needs. Projects can be run via Hollywood Player or compiled as self contained applications, for a variety of platforms besides Amiga and Amiga like operating systems. You can also export projects as AVI video.

VideoClipper little tool for cutting and joining video files of various formats. It also allows you to add some basic filters and effect as well as audio. It's availble from OS4 Depot.

@Rob

Thanks! I assume you can import ANIM files into Hollywood too? I always liked Scala and it worked for stringing together basic animations with minimal tinny 'Paula' sound effects and sampled speech/music. I think we've moved beyond Paula for anything other than Mods now IMHO!

Yes.

Animation is covered from page 98 in the manual.

All manuals for Hollywood and Designer are freely available from the help section of the website. https://www.hollywood-mal.com/help.html

If you want to get into programming in the Hollywood language there's an IDE called MiniHollyEdit NG on OS4 Depot.
