@newlight

If there is a first archive part with plain .zip extension and you have WinZip/WinRAR integrated in your Windows, simply right-click the .zip file and select extract here in the context menu.

@newlight

Multipart archives (like ZIP or RAR) typically end with the extensions:

Filename.ZIP
Filename.Z01
Filename.Z02

or

Filename.RAR
Filename.R01
Filename.R02

The extensions Z01, R01 etc. are all effectively still part of the original ZIP/RAR just split into lots of pieces.

To extract you open the first ".ZIP" or ".RAR" file in your archive program of choice that supports the split archive (so WinZIP, WinRAR, 7-zip for example).

You can test the archive before attempting to extract as if a part is missing or corrupt it will fail.

The split parts (.Z01, Z02 etc.) will not extract separately. All parts of the split file are required.

This was effectively what Rose had stated above.

@_Steve_&Seiya

Bandizip doesn't work with Z01 files.

I don't know what to do

As a matter of fact,I ticked all the files formats to extract on the options menu.

Maybe I have to untick?

I will try now with UnRAR but I did it before without success.

What can I do now?

Its a multipart zip file.
"Z" denotes "zip", the number is the part of the archive.
If any single one of the files is corrupt the overall zip archive wont necessarily join/decompress.
You dont decompress each portion, you extract the root section and will decompress everything.

Its baffling you're having trouble.
I cant get multipart zip files not to work with pretty much every single decompression tool with their default behaviour.

@_Steve_&all

Many thanks Steve!!!And all of you!!! You cleared some of my doubts.Very well explained and useful mini-guide.Now I know for example that I have to decompress one file and then all the rest go to join or decompresss.Great appointments here yeah.Great post..But anyway I know all these things,I am not a begginner in decompression neither on Amiga or even on PC I did it in the past succesfully I think several times.

Yesterday I noticed that I have an ZIP archive inside my PHILIPS 256 GB Pendrive buyed this year some months ago and it weighted is of 70 GB or 70.xxx.xxx bytes I think of size.It was compressed or probably decompressed weeks ago between 16th or 18th day of March.I think it was 18th of March but I am not sure.Probably with WinZIP if I remember well.

Anyway when I have time and after I try to activate my paypal account to pay my Amiga 1200 on AmigaKit,I will go to copy those files to my awesome Elements 2 TB external HD and I will see if I can load and of these MAME0.106 Roms and CHDs on this 2TB HD.

My Elements was buyed on 2019 or 2020 I think and I think is awesome but I must only connect to a USB port after Workbench 4.1 loaded bacause if not it freezes
