I don't think it's that simple. While there will always be money to be made from human behaviour, I don't know that this is the cause rather than just an effect. Maybe it's just a social experiment gone wrong, or some emergent effect of spending more of your life in social media echo chambers than actual reality. Who can say? Such blatant juvenoia aside, who really thinks the majority of millenials are fully equipped to live in the real world?

You didn't acknowledge this privilege when you suggested someone else should check theirs. You could say "but I myself am aware of it" when making your post, but if you did, then you are making the assumption that the person you are taking to task is not aware of theirs, when like you, they may well be and just don't feel the need to qualify every single statement they make with a list of disclaimers.
