Hi, just a quick mention of the problems experienced when accessing AW from my WM5.0 PDA:

It's not possible to login with Minimo (a tiny Mozilla release for CE PDAs) I submit and get sent back to the login page. It works with IE so it might be a form tag handling bug or cookie problem.

There's no link to reply to posts even when logged in.

The images in posts are replaced by [image] links. If I don't want to see images I can disable them myself and selectively load the ones I want, so no need to do that imo.

To much information is chopped off from the listings and posts, it looks like the assumption is that PDAs are using dial-up or some other low bandwitdh connection but that's not necessarily true, mine has 54mbps wifi for example.

I can't prevent the site from serving pages from the pda. subdomain, when I enter www. it still sends me back to pda.

I think that there should either be a third version, one which only limits the width of the pages to something pda-friendly (single column) yet with all the text, links, images, or at least some link to set a cookie that tells the engine to serve the normal pages regardless of the browser since the browsers themselves have a feature to reformat the pages and images to make them fit if desired.

I got the "Sorry, you already voted" message when I tried to vote (the first and only time) in the moderator poll (Oct 27 2006). If I can't vote, I'll live, but wanted to post this here FYI.

@gary_c

Another semi-related oddity I've noticed recently:

Used to be, when I voted, every time I viewed that thread since then, it would display the results... Now it only displays the results when the page has reloaded from my having voted. If I go to the next or the previous page in a multi-page thread, it reverts to displaying the vote checklist instead of the results, as if I hadn't voted yet... but tells me "You've already voted" if I try to vote again.

(And, of course, it displays the vote results if I click Show Votes...)

I'm using Firefox 2.0, and was using the latest 1.5 version before that, if that has anything to do with it.

-- Addendum:

I am, of course, able to vote. Well, the last time I voted (which, actually, was a coupla days ago at least) I was...

According to the poll log you have voted for AMiGR, elatour, opi and T_Bone.

@DaveyD

Just noticed that the "sticky" on TOS in the individual forums is not the
latest you updated under "Terms and Policy".

@DaveyD

Oh, OK, thanks. I got the "you already voted" message after I hit submit, so I thought it didn't go through. Maybe an accidental quick double-click on the submit or something.

@AW site developer

Links under upper right of ANY news story meant to go to other articles by the same author still does not work. It goes to the author's user profile.
For reference these are titled "news by" [author].

@AW site developer

Under "Partners" (right side of front page) there is a dead link to our partner "AmigaOS".

Maybe this should just be a link to Amiga Inc website and not mention "AmigaOS", what with the dispute over who owns OS4 and all.

I'm not able to upload my cheeky new Avatar, it's 31 by 34 by 24 jpeg, and if I try to upload it it says:

::Errors occured::
Picture
==>mimeException

I've tried it with Registed Ibrowse 2.4 and Aweb 3.5.09 IS the problem down my end?

Nope I'm on Broadband now.

I've also tried the image on another forum, and it's not working on that either, so I think it's the image.

It's the iBrowse:images/pictures file which I've croped in Picshow and saved as a jpeg file, it opens okey in Muliviewer and picshow and is a jpeg as far as I can tell, but the other website say's its not a valid picture file.

Hmmm odd..

Does it meet the size specifications in bytes?
(I'm guessing it does not, since size error is the main reason users get this error message) It has nothing to do with "validity".

I said "in bytes". (not resolution)

Oops! Just noticed that. I've edited the above to include it!

It's only the iBrowse 2.4 "broken image link" picture so it's rather small anyway.
