Anyone know why I am getting a "Suspicious secure site connection error" when accessing AmigaWorld.net from IBrowse 2.5.5 PPC? Is this something I can correct from my end? I do not see this error when using Odyssey.

Thanks!

@mbrantley

I get the same with IBrowse 2.5.5 PPC, not with NetSurf or Odyssey.

@mbrantley

Yes. It shows when opening amigaworld.net but not with www.amigaworld.net

The link to the logo in the RNOXfer news item is broken:

https://jpv.wmhost.com/jpv_software/RNOXfer/RNOXfer.png

Works with http instead of http.

FYI, it fails in Firefox too - AmiSSL uses the root certs from Firefox.

"OpenSSL s_client www.wmhost.com:443" gives more detail.

@Futaura

It's a little bit difficult for us to deal with this sometimes

Mixed content (http images on a https page for one) causes warnings or insecure logos in many browsers and sometimes the images that are posted as part of news item don't work over https, this is obviously one of those cases (we do try to verify that the links work when the image is posted and often we change the http to https if it works, but obviously since these are linked off-site we don't have full control over that content, and would rather have the included picture displayed, then no picture at all.

Hmmm... I wonder why RNOXfer logo didn't work, but RNOPDF logo does work. They were in the same news item and urls pointed to the same server, but was there a typo from my side? Seems that moderator has edited the Xfer logo away now.

In any case if any moderator would like to edit my news item with HTTPS URLs instead of HTTP, then these can be used:

https://jpv.amigaaa.com/RNOPDF/rnopdf.png
