Latest AWeb still a bit buggy...

I have the full-version of AWeb up and running, using the latest PPC-OS4 native Beta
version. It's of course much better and more stable, but still now and then I
notice some Gurus and GrimReapers. They are small ones and can happens when you
least expect it. Sometimes a soft reboot has to be done, unfortunately...

I really love the full-version of AWeb using the latest PPC-OS4 Beta version,
but it would be better to address these small bugs, which are still present..

@Helgis

Has the latest version been released yet?
I remember that the link to a beta got out
to the boards a few weeks back, but I've been
waiting for an announced release.

I'm still running Lite 3.5.05 here, and I'd
love to update it if the next release is ready..

@lylehaze

You're right. I hasn't been released to the public yet, so much could still be done.
I have the latest Beta version 3.5.06. Being a small update, it's still a bit buggy
now and then...

Other than that I'm using it instead of IBrowse 2.3 at the moment

@Helgis

You have been reporting "bugs" like this before. Why don't you send the crashlogs to the developers? They can't fix bug if you can't prove that they exist and where it crashes.

If you have a reproducable case, that's even better.

When GR appears, Save the crashlog, and send to the devs with a description of your problem.

@Helgis

LOL - You are NOT using the latest beta!
You are using an unofficial Aweb version!

This is the Aweb website:
http://aweb.sunsite.dk/download.php

The last Aweb version was 3.5.5 released February 2005
3.5.6 was never released because of the problems you describe.

3.5.7 should have this issues fixed and should be released in a few days

Cheers
Gunnar

...except you don't have the latest Beta version. You have a "leaked" version and there have been more recent internal builds since then. Various issues have been resolved.

There won't be a public 3.5.06 due to possible version confusion, instead expect to see a 3.5.07 "RSN".

This issue is somewhat off topic, sorry

@samos3.9

Flash/Shockwave isn't something that a browser supports as such. It comes via a separate plugin, and at least Voyager used to have one (albeit somewhat buggy) and I think IBrowse 2.4 will also have one. Still, the version we get will apparently support Flash versions up to 4 or 5, whereas most sites nowdays use 6 and 7. So some older sites may work with the upcoming plugin, but it's hardly Flash support in the meaning of what the main operating systems have.

As for is AWeb able to use any of these plugins or if it will have its own, haven't looked into it.

@BigGun

My mistake Of course it's an unofficial version. I'll keep track on the next
release ready for a couple of days. Keep up the good work

so that it can be viewed in this forum?

@Helgis

It doesn't make much sense posting crashlogs for a specifix program into this
forum. Andy Broad (one of the authors) reads here only sometimes

Send your logs to the AWeb-ml aweb-dev@sunsite.dk or open an Bugzilla Account
and post your bugs there.

@Raziel

I've sent a mail to aweb-dev@sunsite.dk through SimpleMail and pasted the 2
crashlogs, so hopefully something might be done to the bugs

Yes, Sam, AWEB can support Flash content if you have a compatible browser installed that supports Adobe Flash Player. Make sure your wireless network card is working properly before accessing the internet with it on your Amiga One (A1200). Enjoy browsing!
