@djnick and all

Here is a video I recorded today playing and recording (!) Swamp Defense running under AmigaOS:

See comment area for my rant about SRec and screen capturing in general.

Here is a new video I uploaded today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=t5DmlQmyzbY

A little demonstration of Jack if anyone hasn't tried it yet, shows a few sneak peek at a couple minor features in the next version.

(audio swap maybe in progress)

Nice. What application did you use to record this video of the Amiga desktop?

Does it do sound also? I don't hear any sound so curious.

@amigasociety

I used SRec, on the interface it says it can record sound as well, but if you watch one of my other videos (recording Swamp Defense in HD) the audio did not record.

See video description for best settings.

EDIT: If you wanna do a video as well on your X1000 please please go ahead - I've been asking for someone to do it for yonks - but all I see is boring (to me) benchmarks instead!

@djrikki

Was their a mic connected to your AMiga for verbal audio or does it just supposed to pick-up the audio from the apps running on screen?

One day when I am better equipped to do so I will record my screens.

I now have AmiCygnix installed and running in full 1920 x 1080, OWB-GUI & NetSurf doing all my surfing the web, and other odds and ends.

Next get email working, then get some MP3s moved over, then some movies, and once done, I will have all playing at once and record it.

@amigasociety

I don't really know about the audio. No I didn't have a mic connected I was just playing the game assuming it would record the audio. hehe

Yeah I use 1920x1080 as well.

*sly bump*

Of course anyone who owns a Amiga X1000 is more than welcome to upload a Srec recorded video up to YouTube! Come on guys - less pointy pointy camera at screeny!

@djrikki

AHI doesn't do simultaneous file & soundcard output, so in order to hear sound while you are recording and also get the file, you'd need to plug your line out to something that has a suitable analog line out, then connect that back to the line in of the computer.

@Thematic

Thanks I have an Alesis MultiUSB DJ Mixer - might be able feed it into that - perhaps not via the USB though - however might just plug-it in though just to see what happens.

Bump for my video as well!

Saw the new Cadbury's advert on TV the other day. Thought the soundtrack sounded like something else...

@gtmooya

Lol yeah.. added a comment just to point it out!

Cadbury always make great adverts these days; of course its only just to smooth over the fact that Cadbury's is no longer a British company and they keep shedding jobs. Perhaps if they lowered the price people would buy more chocolate... chocolate is like Oil - a luxury - even though it should just be a commodity.

@djrikki

Spookily similar music. So close you might think that it was the same musician for both pieces.
Trevor, who wrote the Amiga video music again?

@ddni

On further investigation the Cadbury and Amiga OS4 videos both use the tune "Central Services / The Office" from the OST for the movie Brazil.

Well most people here are probably aware that this popular music video was produced entirely using the Amiga and Deluxe Paint back in 2003 - but if you didn't know already and have not seen the video here it is!

Junior Senior - Move Your Body

And the hook to this famous track by Calvin Harris was produced on Amiga as recent as 2007.

Calvin Harris - Acceptable in the '80s
