@fairlanefastback
@wegster
I've been watching this thread for a little while now and I tried posting earlier but for some reason I was blocked for a day it said. Been around AW.net for years, just haven't ever posted anything.

I am just wondering what is both of your guys' problem with meet.mrnrg? I don't want to go too much into it, I am kind of tired of reading your responses. But seriously??? WTF? Why don't you stop accusing the guy and stop telling him what to do and how much money to make? Has he in any way screwed you over? And who are you pretending you are internet police?

His product doesn't interest me much, but I don't see ANY harm in what he's doing. It is ambiguous to you? So what? It is too expensive? So what? He'll be making money? So what? 1000% profit? Good for him... Did he put a gun to our heads and made us pay for something we didn't want? Vote with your wallets...I will be.

Never thought I'd get so sick by reading AW. Ugh Yeah yeah, I'm a noob and I need to shut up and you are both saving Amiga community wah wah wah. Great.

Ditto. Meet.mrng has never been anything but Amiga supportive, especially during the pre-SAM era. I like you am not really interested but I want to hear what the boy has to say or has experienced.

Welcome!

I can only answer for myself. And the answer is nothing. As is evidenced by my responses, when meet.mrnrg gives clear and direct responses I thank him for that quite clearly, succinctly, and directly in return. When meet.mrnrg is continually elusive I continually ask for clarification. From this I think, if looked at objectively the answer here is that if meet.mrnrg would be immediately upfront when he is asked something, then it would save probably 30 posts per question. Now I have to think, and certainly you do not need to agree with this, that since meet.mrnrg is supposedly a grown man running a business, where he has assured us there is no language barrier present, that he, for reasons unknown to me, is purposely being obtuse.

Quote:

Luckily as you already know from being a reader here for years as you say, there are many actually Amiga related threads here to participate in, or to simply enjoy reading as you have done in the past. My advice to anyone is that if a particular thread starts to irk you mentally, just move on to another one.

Quote:
But seriously??? WTF? Why don't you stop accusing the guy and stop telling him what to do and how much money to make?

I have not accused him of anything. I've asked him a series of questions and commented on what appearance that I think he has given off in how he has handled some things in regard to his ebay listing and thread here. And I certainly have not told him how much money to make. I have said I don't see him selling this stuff for so much.

Quote:
Has he in any way screwed you over? And who are you pretending you are internet police?

I have not tried to limit meet.mrnrg in anyway. I have simply tried to converse with him. The only one I see trying to police anyone is you, telling me that I am out of line for speaking my mind with a "what the f*ck", etc.

Quote:

And I don't see any harm in asking a few questions. And really, thats all that has been asked, a few questions. Meet.mrnrg has drawn out getting to the simple answers many times over. Perhaps he is doing it in some sort of P.T. Barnum "there is no such thing as bad publicity" thing, only he knows. Regardless, who are you, as a fellow consumer, to tell another consumer (me and/or wegster) what are valid questions and what are not? Again, who is really trying to be the police someone, you or me?

Quote:
Ugh Yeah yeah, I'm a noob and I need to shut up and you are both saving Amiga community wah wah wah. Great.

No one said you are a noob and need to shutup obviously, since this is your very first post. But it does appear to be an attempt to say thats what reaction you will get from myself and wegster. Again, I can only speak for myself. My answer is that you have as much right as anyone to share your opinion. Thanks for sharing it. Obviously I disagree with it.

Now that you have taken the leap of becoming a poster, perhaps you might consider posting in a thread of more value to the community in a positive way. Your choice of course.

For some reason, I get this mental picture of a sock puppet when reading Mikipedia's post.

You speak as if someone has silenced him. He has made numerous posts freely without any impediment whatsoever. You have always been free to hear what he has to say. I don't see what the purpose is in pretending thats not the case.

God bless Meet.mrng for being Amiga supportive. This has nothing to do with trying to get clear answers to clear questions when he is trying to sell me (and the rest of the community) something for a lot of money. Thats business. And before anyone says anything about me not being a real consumer I'll refer everyone back to my exchange with BBRV years ago here on AW.net. I put my money where my mouth is. Which reminds me, I have to fulfill my promise to inquire on creating an AROS for Limebook bounty. I'll pop off an email on that today.

Its cool to see more pictures in general. But the same exact content from three different views hours apart each time? Whats the point you are trying to make? The 2nd and 3rd time feels like a spam bump.

@meet.mrnrg

Hello again.

OK so what can you tell me/us about this LimeOS embedded Linux. Is it based on anything 'xcept the kernel? Does it have tools like dpkg? What apps included / supported?

I ask because I couldn't find much on their site. Are there any other OSes supported? (e.g. some decent Linuxes)

Maybe this has already been answered, then please, point me into the appropriate #. Sorry, too many posts here to get through.

BTW if this is a new promising PPC device, are you evangelizing on MorphOS, too? If not, why?

@DiskDoctor

Genesi was a partner in the creation of the Lime series and MorphOS was going to be ported on it. They decided it's broken by design (well, the processor was designed for embedded purposes only and has certain limitations and peculiarities) and not worth it.
