Pardon me, but it's 2010. Is it so freaking difficult to make a damn login at some live streaming site like Ustream.tv (but there are others too, pick your choice), and set up a damn laptop with a webcam in five minutes, to provide a stream? At least to have a backup solution if something goes wrong...

I'm not the one to ask. I'm just trying to manage multiple threads and irc channels to keep info current.

@hunk, kas1e and everybody else who likes to put other people's efforts down:

Sometimes, things go wrong. Sometimes, timetables clash.

If anyone here has never been late for anything, by all means, complain away!

@thread

How about we make the best of what we have atm?

Go to the amiga.org channel, ask Robert for permission to edit the log down to just his reporting, and post it?

@kas1e

I wouldn't say that. Mr Borsari will arrive and set things up sooner or later.

But there's no need to panic, even if he doesn't. Amiwest's organisers intend to sell a DVD of all the weekend's events, so we won't miss anything.

@T-J
I did a few (dozen) meetings and shows in the past decade, and I'm perfectly aware the work required to put together such a meeting, and even how to put it together properly. My problem is not that something goes wrong, because indeed, things tend to go wrong at a live show. My problem is that in this case, no precautions was made to avoid things going wrong.

And I even recommended a fallback solution. But whatever you say.

OK, but your wording was rather hostile. Anyway, it looks like someone's taken up your suggestion.
