It's true that it became unstable some versions ago and that is true no matter what version of AOS 4.1 you use. sometimes I get DSI errors changing settings (I think changing language) too. It's a shame since it used to work really well also with the competition pro AFAICR.

I had some error message from VICE today regarding sound buffer, and after that the emulation (of sound as well I guess) proceeded, but without producing actual sound. So it needs some attention I agree.
