Less I have it reversed, the Vic Plus will be D525 and the Vic Pro will be i5 with DVD. Both have HDMI output. Commodore-amiga.org

Yes, I'm waiting on hearing about their Commodore Amiga series. Hopefully by December.

@damocles

Too bad it won't run anything interesting. Also the case doesn't look too exiting so far.

@damocles

It's not that interesting IMHO (and i don't mean it in a "flaming" way)... why not do an operation similar to what has been done for the C64? Wouldn't it be better to recycle C64's design and do it in white (if possible at all)? That would've had more sense IMHO...

@damocles

Core i3/i5 is not bad but it'll be let down by the weak intel video again. When are CUSA going to move away from rebadging flawed off the shelf products?

There is only one genuine COMMODORE VIC and this is it...

The REAL COMMODORE VIC

It may be 30 years old but it's still better value than the stuff your promoting...

@CritAnime: Thats the reason, why even the "Commodore Amiga" ins´t interesting. They use standard-cases with standard-PC-components in it. The only addition is the "Commodore Amiga"-brand/sticker.

I mean everyone is able to build such a system alone, noone needs CUSA for this. It would even be cheaper and you can add an Amiga-sticker, if you want.

@Franko

Wauuuuuuu, I got one of this long time ago.

But now, I don't know where is. I only have my C64 (it's working and expanded with a chamaleon 64), 2 A500 that don't work, 1 A2000 ( I don't star for about 5 years, so I think is out of service), 1 1200 (with Blizzard, Mediator etc. and it's working) and a Sam 440/800

@damocles

why not produce a copy of the original Vic20 case like they did for the 64??

heck that's the only thing that would make retro Vic20 users buy this thing

When Escom owned the brand Commodore, it was all about re-badging as well. When it was Tulip owned, it was shifting boxes with added stickers as well. Nothing new here. Probably, if Commodore did survive, it is what Commodore would be doing right now.

But this is my feeling about CUSA.

EAB way to handle CUSA is only acceptable way, they have thread named "One and only CUSA thread"

They are doing nothing more than selling 50€ Chinese/Korean bulk hardware with Commodore sticker. They don't have any respect of true copyright holders or true intention to do something new, except money

[Edit: A headline like that would not appear in the UK on a national newspaper (even though The Sun can be a bit obtuse at times). Additionally, there are better ways of putting your view across without derailing a thread or generally causing offence. Take this as a warning. - _Steve_]

It was a The Sun title and with litle help from my friend google, it can be proven http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/4252204/Vileness-passes-for-wit.html

This article makes no mention of it being a headline in The Sun, and actually starts by making a point that the comments were made by "England Fans" at a football match. So my original point still stands. _Steve_

@utri007
I'm not sure that post is going to take this thread down useful avenues.

I still think it's a shame tho,

if they had turned up and said they have an awesome retro themed PC in and Amiga styled case that has emulation built in ala Amithlon everyone would react with cool X86 box & with more interest & less offence than you see now.

But no they had to try & say that their Amiga branded skinned Linux + UAE is the new official Amiga & tried a few dirty tricks with version numbers etc.

@Panthro

There is no way to troll enough with those scumbacks. There is no useful avenues with this thread.

You can buy one from dealextreme, without Commodore sticker... price is different.

No it was a question, it is always possible to say NO.

[Note: Lots of members do not like or agree with CUSA and their tactics, however, there are alternate ways of voicing an opinion without throwing accusations and insults around. We do not tolerate this behaviour irrespective of who the people/company are. _Steve_]

Dude chill out. I don't like CUSA, just like others on here. But calling them pedophiles and kiddie fiddlers is just wrong.

At least when Escom owned the Amiga they were actually rebadging Amigas. From memory, they were the only company apart from QuickPak to actually do anything at all hardware-wise.
If Escom had stayed going it's possible we may have seen something interesting.
With CUSA the chances are nil - worst thing though is that they pretend they're doing something interesting. From numbers I've seen - it's not working.
