Avatar Upload problems

| Hi
I'm having trouble uploading a new avatar, I go to upload, it seems to upload, then it says "error wrong mimetype" or something.. very frustrating.. tried on Linux with FF and Chrome and Winxp FF..
its a 120x90 jpg 8kb Last edited by realize on 28-Jan-2012 at 04:16 PM.

Oh, and some browsers don't seem to work for upload. Explorer is reported to work, if you have that.

Welcome.
Please report back. I'm stunned at how many threads we have about avatar upload failure. I'd like to know for sure what browsers are working and not producing the error message, so we can clear this up once and for all.
btw-I had no issue with IBrowse when I uploaded mine.

Well, we need to know if the size limit is that listed in TOS (5k) or what staff continually posts as 6144 bytes.(6K)
I hesitate to quote too many old posts about which browsers work and which do not, since most browsers have been updated since the posts were made.
It would be safe (since my avatar is under 5k and size 120x120) to test with -that- limit 1st, then report on the results with different browsers as of today.

i tried to keep up tob oth limits, it didnt worked out though. but thats fine, its not so important, i dont actually use avatars on any other site.. |
