fast title translation -
Amigaone x1000: delays, high costs, poor support and poor (bad) performance.

@AmigaBlitter

Does Linux support the dual core?
OS4 benchmarks are low, but it was the same before Altivec support came to A1XE, but at least you could show Linux and altivec benchmarks before OS4 got it.

@AmigaBlitter

"Amigaone x1000: delays, high costs, poor support and poor (bad) performance."

perfect for the amiga-world...

I do not know italian but they certainly compare it with new standard hardware. But it is not designed to compete on a broad market but to satisfy the needs of the OS4 fans.

@TheDaddy

he does not share the enthusiasm of the OS4 community (and he is certainly not alone there). But he does not understand that X1000 is a special product for a special community and not for a wider audience.

Atleast the machine is getting attention outside the Amiga-circles.

@Framiga

You refer to "(ma tante volte prende sonore mazzate anche dagli Atom)." and similar expressions? Not very eloquent but right to the point!
I personally enjoyed the reading, it`s nice to see from another perspective the present situation (not the community`s subjective/distorted one ).

Instead of programming another X1000 batch, I`d like to see a new project (another CPU maybe, or new interfaces like USB3, Bluetooth support, new drivers etc. ). Wishful thinking...

@Cass

i was speaking about grammar and syntax. Apart being unfair comparing a custom AmigaOS4 hardware with current general purpose machines.

A very bad article IMHO

@Framiga

It's seems to me that he critics every single aspect of the hardware, software, companies involved and son on....
Rather than a simple report, seems to be a personal, pessimistic, critic about the whole amiga situation.

@AmigaBlitter

Although he is right in many cases, his comparison to (and praise of) products of Commodore USA makes his review worthless in my point of view.

Well, pricewise the comparison is not that unfair, since you can get a pretty much cutting edge machine for the price of one X1000.

Unless this is an attack from an ex-Amigan or something like that, I'll have to respect the opinion. Someone from "outside" the Amiga community doesn't wear rose-tinted glasses.

But your cutting edge machine won't run OS4, why do ppl keep bringing this up?

@AmigaBlitter

Not all reviews have to be favorable, and as say the proverb from some "famous Spanish": Lo importante no es que hablen mal o bién de uno si no que hablén.=>The important thing is not to speak ill or well of one, is that speaking.

but in this case of custom there is nothing, since it always talk about components already available on the market and available to anyone

Would kindly ask author to point out any availiable board with PA6T or any board with XMOS soldered.

Also, comparison with CUSA where they are praised for custom cases (cases? there is just one ...) is highest humiliation.

But criticism of earlybird edition is realistic in terms of what OS 4.1.5 can use at the moment. The point is that this is not the final release.

Yes, Debian Linux can use both cores and beyond 2GB RAM.

@vox

CUSA...sorry but anyone can make a replica case.

At least Hyperion/ACube/Trevor/Amigakit put creative power in it apart from money.

What a joke, just a very low, gratuitous attack on OS4 and company...

It's at times like this that I think the Amiga community deserves no better (or deserves to be in a situation like this).
