Is 120 to 150 euros a fair price to pay for the x500? I really dont know what a case like this would cost.

I am recording a short video of the fpgaarcade replay board inside the X500. It fits nicely and there is loads of space left for future expansions, like daugther boards etc...

Price...I have asked people interested in it (everyone who has registered) to price it up and let me know, the reason being that if I had to price it up it would cost too much (seven years of on/off work, various prototypes, numerous parts bought just to test it etc...).

But it's only a matter of days, I am still waiting for a few people to reply with what they think the case should cost/it's worth.

I like the case, Do you painted it with aerograph? because the professional finish, and the material case, are very perfect, the case is of resin, wood?

As I said over on AO, I think you need to set a minimum price so that you're sure to recover your costs and then ask for people to "leave a tip" if they wish.

I don't like to play guessing games on prices and I'm not going to subsidize someone else who low-balls you to get one. I want to pay a fair price and only you know that.

If you mean the glossy plastic then no, it comes like that. If you mean the aluminium rear and base that is spray painted. I decided that aluminium "natural" colour wouldn't look right.

Plastic+aluminium, makes it really light...

I'm not too crazy about your camera work, but the music is good and the case looks very nice. I am looking forward to a new video showing the FPGA Arcade Replay board installed within this case and more full screen shots that show me all the details clearly without moving around so much. In fact, I would prefer several still pictures of the case from all angles, instead of the original video, but I applaud the effort and wish you good luck in selling many of them.

What have you decided for the price?

It should make for a great dedicated Linux+E-UAE Amiga emulation computer case, where the Linux (or Windows for those who want to use WinUAE instead) is hidden from the user and the computer boots directly into AmigaOS3.x, without ever having to see Linux, or Windows at all.

I don't know the exact form factor of all the SAM boards, but I imagine that this case will make a nice looking SAM440ep, SAM440flex & SAM460ex based system, as well as the FPGA Arcade Replay board, so hopefully you will be able to obtain enough "Pre-Orders" to make a production run of 100, or more, so the number of cases will reduce the cost per case just a little bit from what it would cost if you had to produce them in lots of 20 to 50 at a time.

I can't commit to buying one for my FPGA Arcade Replay board until I know the price and see some better still pictures, but the chances are very high that I will want to purchase one of them.

Congrats on finally reaching the end of this project and having it turn out so beautiful.

Why not collaborate with Acube to ship Sam460 boards inside this case? It would be wonderful. Brand new AmigaNG hardware inside an ageless, familiar A500 case.
