still not released, so why reveal the dealers list, as long as there is no stock?

you mean what concerns applications? wouldnt it rather make sense to maintain an incompatibility list and improve on it identifying problems?

If you read the pdf, chapter 8 says its expected to be made available Q4 2017.
That could mean in October thru Desember, so dont hold your breath. Soon (tm). Last edited by Overflow on 01-Oct-2017 at 11:27 AM.

this is the official announcement: http://www.apollo-accelerators.com/files/V4_announcement_v1_5.pdf
As Wawa wriote, why do you want to have dealers list if product is not yet available. Also at least the standalone in any case needs SAGA and thus the new core that is still in development so I do think that the hardware will not be sold before Core is ready |

imho its more reasonable to buy things when they are available, rather than preorder and then get upset because something got delayed. i dont get this constant frenzy about the vampire offers. Last edited by wawa on 01-Oct-2017 at 11:56 AM.

| I'm seriously thinking about buying this and I haven't bought AMIGA hardware in a very long time! Got to be 15 years at least but, I have this old A500+ with the 2MB chipram chipset that I just loved as a teen. This thing would make it almost useable again. _________________ It's not the question that's the problem, it's the problem that's the question. |

According to the date in the PDF it was published August 03, 2017
The posting of Gunnar von Boehn at the Apollo Knowledge Forum about the start of mass production was made the 20th of August 2017. This posting mentioned September as shipping date.
I don't care about an outdated PDF if I have a newer posting.

if it is not do you want to sue them?
I do not understand what you are about now. They will sell it when it is ready to sell. |

After all the announcements I thought they had sold the first batch.
The marketing of all the Vampire cards where done in a strange and uncoordinated way. Prices, dealers and availability where uncertain.
AFAIK there are still people who had paid money without getting their hardware. It might have started as a hobby project from Kipper who lost some orders ore couldn't solder all the boards in his spare time but people like Gunnar doesn't make it easier.
And before I would order some hardware on EBay (Sometime Vampire2 where only available on EBay) I would ask for honest dealers and honest compatibility records.

The Vampire was originally just Majsta, who after the original V600 (V1) with TG68 core, was contacted by the Apollo Team, who offered to provide more advanced core in return of Majsta providing hardware for them. Kipper kinda volunteered later on to help Majsta manufacter boards, apparently at his own risk. By keeping this venture as a spare time “hobby project” and hence avoid lots of the paper work, regulations, obligations and duties associated by running an actual company, they intended to keep the cost down and provide cheap cards for all Amiga systems, and somehow become the defacto standard for Amiga hardware, ideally in a way so that anyone interested in doing Amiga CPU cards would need a license for the core. What could possibly go wrong? :) _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Even big mainstream companies like Blizzard will just say "Its done when its done!".
And those that publish a set date usually (always?) exceed that date by months.
You have decided to be pissed off, so Ill let you carry on. |

Also, there were never any promises. There are no promises core gold 2.7 or gold 3 either. No promises regarding SAGA or FPU. Nor any promises about V1200 nor standalone V4, and certainly no promises about Vampire for A3000/A4000. They are all just possibilities, some more realistic and more likely than others. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |
