@Hypex

Payment or not, I doubt Hyperion has much say in choosing new platforms for porting OS4, now that ExecSG has changed hands.

@Trixie

Right.

Exec-SG and device drivers are the only parts of the OS that need to be changed to support a new platform. Since Trevor Dickinson now owns ExecSG and can control (and support) the direction of development, that makes it easier to migrate.

Friends of this exquisite thread!!!

You can have an Amiga laptop today with Aros! With Amithlon!
With some UAE on top of baremetal Linux!

(oh lord of the heavens and the land and the roaring seas, with the latter solution and the proper hardware underneath, you can even enjoy exotic experiences such as TOUCH ENABLED WORKBENCH 1.3.2!! GO TAP THAT ORANGE TRASHCAN!)

So why are you still all waiting anxiously to have the usual suspects rob you out of thousands precious dollars for some 10 pounds PPC brick powered by valves, running that AmigaOS 4 patchwork at the speed of a six years old intel atom netbook?

Curiosly yours,

MEGA_RJ_MICAL the 1st,

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

I dear Mical, I just can't get it. What makes you thing that those what you suggested are same thing?

Do you happen to have any other hobbies, I would like give some advises, in category "how you hobby better"? Like why you buy that? Because there is many other hobbies, wich are dirt cheap. ect. I would also suggest that some other things are same thing than your hobby, even if they are not? like if your hobby is horseback riding, I would suggest you to buy bicycle, because it cheaper, requires less maintenance and room, etc and basicly horse and bicycle are same thing.

PS. There is no lord in heavens.

Dearest friend utri007,
I did my best,

but in spite of my deepest efforts,
I couldn't unravel the intricate tapestry of your message.
A few articles here and there might have helped.

Best and warmest regards,

@MEGA_RJ_MICAL

Translation: using a PPC NG Amiga is not the same as emulation. You pay for what you get and many people like the feel of a 'real' Amiga. Having a go at people that want to spend their disposable income in this way is not appreciated by AmigaWorld members who consider the Amiga a hobby, want to support the remaining Amiga companies and don't consider investing in 'real' hardware a waste of money.

Is that clear enough?

Trevor controls squat. If Hyperion doesn't create an OS4 ISO for him, all he can do is wait and beg. Sounds familiar?

But it's a moot point anyway, because they're all in love with each other and Ben's farts smell like roses. Or something along those lines, you'd have to ask Solie for the exact wording he used.

The Dutch outskirts of Antwerpen... not surprising.

Perhaps Hyperion share a location with another tech firm:

Nope!

"The activities of Mts. IG and PT de Jager take place (among other things) in the branch: Growing of grains, legumes and oil seeds . This sector has as main category in the SBI subdivision that the Chamber of Commerce holds: "Agriculture, forestry and fishing" and in this case is further subdivided into: "Agriculture, hunting and services for agriculture and hunting", subcategory "Cultivation of annual crops "."

@thread
After three years and still no physical product, should this post still be titled "super interesting"?

@agami

Not to mention that in that time they have managed to collect about 1/4 of money to finish the project. At this rate everything used on project will be EoL before it's finished.

@agami

Maybe, but there is no progress at all.

And the money they are collecting now is for de the design, no production, no OS4 - maybe some get the impression that OS4 is near, but Acube has not done much in the Amiga community lately. MorphOS would be more a candidate if they are interested at all with their current support for PowerBook G4 and movement to x64.

@bennymee

Instead of complaining, people, just help the project and donate if you can.

it has been collected 7000 US$ 7200€ or the 3rd step (2nd step?) of campaign and last 2400US$ cash have been used for Acube to made and release PCB Design and Orcad and EDIF PCB Design Sources.

I just donated 5 € circa 10 days ago.

As of Jan, 8, 2020 82 days are left to the end of this step of the campaign. 7200 € donated and still 12900 US$/12500 Euro remaining to be collected to obtain first 6 running prototypes.

Please donate and spread the word... If someone could call Amiga Clubs, personalities and organizations who could help or contribute the project, he/she are welcome!

By way of what relationship? There is none. From the project it says distinctly GNU/Linux. Nowhere is Amiga mentioned on that site.

Friend AmeegaGuy,

you're talking to a guy who proposed to enslave third world malnourished children to work on Amiga software by bribing their schools.

Keep this in your mind when you address our mutual friend Raffaele.

Warmest and Kindest Regards,
MEGA_RJ_MICAL

@AmeegaGuy

Maybe just because in the future we Amigans could count on an open hardware solution that is free of royalties to be reproduced by Amiga hardware makers (including Acube itself who will be the first manufacturing it) and free for any porting of the three existing Amiga related OSes on it...

Not counting that our coders will receive full support of knowing all open hardware references on which build OS drivers....

Sincerely I can only facepalming at Amigans lack of perspective and capabilities of foresee new chances for our platform to be supported by new hardware.

My personal sense of perspective and foresight would improve tremendously if the word "AmigaOS" were seriously mentioned in connection with the project. Until this is the case, my wallet takes the liberty to give this Linux hobby project a miss.
