Reference filing info for Amiga trademark filing (uspto)

| The $ amount of legal expenses that both Hyperion and Cloanto will incur, in this and in the other litigation, is bound to drive both companies out of business.

The page is dated October 5, 2017. I believe that is a reasonable estimate.

Is Amiga Inc still a viable business entity by any measure? If not, it would be nice if AROS would enable anonymous read-only access to their source code repository.

I don't expect you to read this entire thread to develop an opinion on that, but short answer imo is...no.

I think it's possible but you have to know the right place to look. In any case it's free to download the sources & pore over them to your heart's content._________________ I've decided to follow an awful lot of people I respect and leave AmigaWorld. Yep, you're right -- I used 'guest' as both username and password and was able to checkout the source tree. The website has quite a lot of out-of-date information on it, which is understandable, considering how few people are actually working on the project.
I'm compiling with -Wall -Wextra, which is slow going, since I have to fix stuff as I go along, mostly signed to unsigned comparisons and assignments. The code seems pretty good, but the formatting is all over the place, depending on who wrote the code, I suppose. Whoever it was that used 1 space indentation should be made to use an Atari ST for the next 90 days as punishment. _________________ "Unix is supposed to fix that." -- Jay Miner |

Seems you're having a rougher time compiling it than I had. I had to make a couple of changes to the source code; somewhere for example I had to change a "struct usomethingorother" to a "struct usomethingorother_t".
I haven't looked that much at the code myself, but I agree that one-space indentation is the sort of thing that makes you want to hunt down the coder responsible and bring sorrow to the things they love. _________________ I've decided to follow an awful lot of people I respect and leave AmigaWorld. From April 10, 2018: Quote:
Communication of the date of commencement of proceedings to the opposing party |
to La Française des Jeux and Drews, Heinz-Alexander over the Cloanto Amiga trademark filing (euipo) For the 4th time I have to raise the fact that after Itec LLC renewed the Amiga trademark (euipo) we still have people filing for and objecting TO other filings for Amiga (euipo). So, I ask again, what is the explanation for this?

I'm pretty sure every announcement of an Amiga "product" has stated that. Should we start to guess who is doing the licensing this time?
Funny...CUSA used Amiga1000X, A-eon used AmigaOne X1000, and now we have the "X" yet again.

There is a difference between a reviewer looking at Vampire and calling it the new Amiga (last year) vs these folks who are not reviewers, but the "producers" of said "Amiga".

What an absolute waste of time and resources. Is exactly like two kids fighting over a ball.
I guess for some people could be important.
Personally I have not seen a viable, useful, interesting product using the Boing Ball as a logo since the 1994.
