Congratulations, Blue Team, for your new release.

Sorry about the whingeing from the Red Team. I guess that makes us even.

When can we get together and make a Violet Team?

@cip060

strange, I did a similar update process (instead of an usb stick I just booted from the iso put o the ssd (blazing fast update process).
Wnt smooth on my Powerbook and Mac mini. Now i also updated the Efika and except from low ram, no issues there with Odyssey, too.

What happens when you boot normally, mount then iso and lunh Odyssey from the mounted iso?

Isn't that where AROS comes in?

Congrats to the MorphOS team.

A few quick comments about the graphics card situation:
- The Southern Islands (SI) series GPU has a completely different architecture to the previous series (in the GPU itself; the framebuffer hardware and some other bits still have similarities). Added to that, the GPUs are little-endian only. Therefore, adding SI support is a lot more work than adding Evergreen/Northern-Islands support (which only requires handling the much smaller differences with previous GPUs. So yes, asking to have that supported too is a lot to ask
- I personally would have skipped the older series altogether so that I could support currently available cards (there are only so many hours in the day...). But, that's just me; they have their own policy
- It's pretty clear that a huge amount of work has gone into the new MorphOS release, including in graphics. Hats off to them

Hans

Perhaps this is different in New Zeland but the Radeon R5 230 and Radeon HD 6450, both supported by MorphOS 3.10, are available new at prices of around 40 USD from major retailers (Amazon, etc.) in Europe and Northern America.

Since this model was mentioned a few times, the only available new HD 7750 that Google Germany listed in their shopping section had a price tag of 500 USD.

Yeah, and they're the lowest of the low-end cards...

Well, with ppc we also have lowest low end cpus and low demands. Hence, a good fit.
Once thee are maxed out in usage it's time to upgrade.

OK works loaded by ISO
I copied the OWB folder on the usb stick and it works fine
Now I will make a bacup of the system partition and make a clean installation!
My hardisk has bad sector problems and loads slowly
But videos with youtube see them well even if at low resolutions
To me shoot everything I have a macmini g4 1.42

Congratulations to the MorphOS Team.

I went to the MorphOS webpage with the intention to buy the Lincence, bit since I did not find a buy button I guessed the registration is offered after the test period is expired.
So I downoaded the ISO tonight, but sadly all of the 4 different graphics cards I have here are not compatible.
The only Radeon 9250 sadly is an AGP version....

There is a registration tool in the system if you like to buy a keyfile.

Mmm i was in hope for a new version of OWB ... but according to the changelog it's the same old 1.24 version + some internal fixes from the latest AROS version

IIRC the WebKit in this release is the latest Fab implemented and it hasn't been available publically on any platform yet. In any case there was a private beta version from Fab after the public 1.24, and this MorphOS 3.10 version is based on the latest changes Fab did. So, it's newer in every aspect, but it's another question if the newer WebKit is better than, for example, the WebKit in 1.23 for certain pages anymore.

What means following:

X5000 supports installation via CDROM, make sure to update your U-Boot firmware to a recent version which supports booting MorphOS.

Is here an other Version of Uboot needed?

Utter BS. You can feel the difference when you switch from a low-end card to a higher-end one.

My original post was intended to point out how much work the MorphOS team has done, and congratulate them. No need to obsess over the one area where I differ in opinion to them (four posts about that already...).

Hans

@Cheese

Apologies, I haven't read the whole thread but does anyone know if this works on a Peg1?

-EDIT-
And well played MOS team. Great to see updates continue.

No, the AROS version is currently the most updated one and it's based on a newer WebKit's revision: 187682

This one:

Quote:
- 27.03.2016: Odyssey Web Browser 1.25
- Updated to WebKit r187682 (July 2015). (AROS)

For what i've understand this new 1.24 for MorphOS only included some internal fixes done by Krzysztof when he develop his 1.25 for AROS, but not the new core

The AmigaOS4 version insteas still at version 1.23, but it also included the fixes done by Krzysztof

So to sum the current situation is more or less that:

OWB 1.25 AROS --> Updated by Krzysztof based on WebKit r187682 + Fix by Krzysztof
OWB 1.24 MorphOS --> Updated by Fab (?) based on WebKit r161078 + Fix by Krzysztof
OWB 1.23 AmigaOS4 --> Ported by kas1e based on WebKit r155188 + Fix by Krzysztof

@Develin

Thanks for the info, but I'll have to look for a compatible graphics card first.

I tried it already, but I don't like to plug in more than one graphics card, too much hassle with monitors. So I'll probably wait for one that fit's all: linux, AmigaOS4 and MorphOS, or at least the latter two..

i am currently working on compiling aros odyssey for multiple targets, particularly different aros platforms using aros build system, but id love to see an accessible common repository incorporating morphos and os4 specific code as well, ideally in a common release branch with dedicated makefiles, allowing for later update to newer core and endian js fixes. unfortunatelly krzysztof doesnt want to be bothered much, especially with administrative tasks i guess.
