But: if you did not modify your X5000, the devices should be connected to the right SATA-port, aren't they ?

I used the Updater to update individual components. And I'm afraid the old bug has resurfaced again. Updater tried to update itself and crashed. V53.50. I can make a log report later on if needed.

I just tested the installer I downloaded from Updater. Apparently it doesn't check if the archive is already downloaded as it downloads a new one every time I tried. I had two copies in different drawers.

I ran the installer on my X1000 and here it ran fine. Though it had some quirks. It uses the old Installer and in some places uses Topaz 8 making it hard to read. It also opens a graphic in the screen corner but doesn't bring it to front. I also found that though I selected Intermediate it asked me if I wanted to install everything. I didn't select Expert.

For verfication this is my md5 sum and file size:

So I don't know if the problem is X5000 specific or there is some conflict in your machine. Do you have any other software you could test installing with? And is it a total system lock up when you get the memory error? Can you even soft reboot it with Ctrl-Amiga-Amiga and get the system booting back?

What I suggest, since it looks like the easiest option is to install using the Updater in the usual way. But, don't update the Updater as there is some race condition it looks like, that causes it to crash when updating itself. Once all the components are updated you can then update the Updater.

I don't have updater and I don't think I have anymore installers.

Yes when my system freezes is a total lock up when I get the memory error and I click on the relevant message

Every X5000 we ship out has Updater software on the Enhancer Software Boot USB and also on the CD. If your X5000 system has not been correctly setup then please contact your reseller.

The Enhancer Software install should run without problems and the Updater tool should be installed ready for you to keep up to date with the many system components that are being supplied from Amisphere server.

I also had problems installing on my X5000. I traced the problem to errors on my NGFS partition. I downloaded and installed from an SFS partition, and it went fine.

Open a shell and enter NGFCheck Work: . See if it reports errors.

If you have another partition with a different filesystem such as SFS, try downloading and installing from there.

I don't know how your system has Enhancer without Updater. What happened to it? How was Enhancer installed in the first place? Bit of a worry. I wonder if it needs a reinmstall. But only a totally broken system should need that.

Does your archive match? I used List for the file size. And MD5Sum for sum.
