I have an A2000 with a A2091 host Adapter. It has a 1G 30 year old HD. I am looking for a replacement and I found this.

https://store.inertialcomputing.com/SCSI2SD-v6-p/scsi2sd-v6-revf.htm

Has anyone tried this?

Yes, I have one for my A3000. It seems to work, but I do get occasional lock-ups during heavy access, not sure about the cause yet. I get about 2MB/s from it with default settings and async SCSI, I have not tried to tune it so far. Some people using it on the AmigaDev slack cannot update the firmware, but that seemed to work for me.

So, I got my V6 card and while it works fine up to. The 4GB limit, I can not format anything above 4 GB without errors. This is with a 3.1.4 kickstart rom in place. What am I missing?

@Kraftwerk2

Likely you are missing updated A2091 ROMs (V7) or better still, a Guru ROM .

Where to get those at this point. I am not having any luck teaching in any of the Amiga stores remaining.

The author is offering the ROM images on his homepage:

http://babel.de/amiga.html

You need to find somebody who's able to burn these onto a compatible EPROM, dealers won't be able to help you here. Go ask around on other Amiga forms (not here, this place is dead), try eab.abime.net for example.

@Kraftwerk2

I had to update my roms on the 2091 and 2630 cards when I updated to 3.1, but I had old roms.

The new sd to scsi cards are great, Less power usage, less heat , faster!
But you have to set them up right with pc software and a usb cable. That threw me.
Alex taught me how to use it right at AmiWest.

Which rom do you have on the motherboard?

which roms are on your other cards? All matching? (or up to date?)

@SACC-dude

I have the 6.6 Roms on the A2091. I got my 7.0 ROMs today, but it seems they are defective. I can not get the card to boot with them. It goes to the insert disk boot screen.

I suppose I can try to load HDToolbox from floppy any try to rewrite the RDB, but I did not think that would be needed. Old 6.6 ROMs boot right up.

I have a 3.1.4 Kickstart rom in my A2000.

Yes, ROMs were in the correct orientation and socket.

I am not aware if any other ROMs need to be updated.

OS3.1.4 w/ Kickstart Rom.
VXL30 40mhz w/ VXL32 w/ 2 MB ram.
Picasso IV w/ Concierto
Adriadne II
A2091 w2MB ram (the SCSI2SD is connected to this)
A2058 w/ 2MB ram (soon 4MB)
A516 Sound card

I am looking to replace the 2MB ram on the VXL, but that is very hard to find.

I really don't know.. but if the 2620 and 2630 needed updated roms to work with greater then 2.1
I would think that your 030 might?

Also, on the memory quest, don't forget the 2000 had a max of 9 megs
and that certain cards (like the bridgeboard) required a setup of only six megs in the auto config area.

The picasso4 might fall into the auto config?

@SACC-dude

I have given up on using an SCSI2SD as my sole HD. I have way to many errors and have installed this way to many times. I am back to using an old 105MB Quantum drive to boot from. That one gives me far less problems.

Sorry to say that you should have belive me. Amiga shops doesn't even sell v6 sd2scsi cards. Get v5.1 and it will work out of the box.
