I am going to be installing 3.1.4 on my A1200 (with ROMs) and want to start from scratch. I am using WinUAE to setup my machine and will copy it over to a real HDD for my A1200 once happy. Doing WinUAE just because accessing the 'net is easier than on my A1200!
My A1200 currently has an ACA1221ec accelerator with 8MB FastRAM.
Does anyone have any advice on software to install? All I can think of at the moment are FullPallette and VisualPrefs, plus some sort of dock and my network software. Given the limited resources of this machine I can't go to fancy. One thing I do miss is the ability to copy an icon using the icon information display, not sure what software makes that possible on 3.9.
I'd appreciate any thoughts people have!

Def Icons I belive does that (It's a commodity, something that goes into wbstartup), there are stuff that can be simply copied from OS3.5 or OS3.9 like sys:classes, there are stuff you should not copy over like prefs and so on, .prefs format is not backwards nor forwards compatible. I can go into way that is, but its not that interesting. but I guess you need deficons.prefs from sys:prefs/env-archive/deficons.prefs, should not be issue to copy that as your not replceing any existing file.
