My POV is very different and certainly up for negative comment.

That view is that A-eon/Hyperion and company have to make a decision as to what AmigaNG is.

Will it try to be a Windows/Ipad/smartphone wannabe as many others fight for the same market, or will it be THE home/hobby/game/animation/music/escape to/stable experience that has kept so many interested for so long.

I mean, who really needs an Amiga? And until the powers-that-be pick a direction, and loudly state their path, it will languish in limbo.

So, I need to know where this bus is going before I buy a ticket.

What future for the Amiga platform?

ARM

You can even create a custom RPi box and call it the Amiga ARM-E (I'm claiming copyrights on that name )

Hyperion roadmap of course is closely guarded secret.
But sometimes informations leak out.

It's so secret that Hyperion's business partners don't even know what it is.

Nothing interesting here, from my experience talk pages of the Amiga related articles aren´t used very often:

eg. MorphOS (24 August 2016‎)
AROS (1 October 2016‎)
Amiga 1200 (1 October 2017‎)

etc.

There was some kind of presentation of MorphOS running on AMD64, it has a new kernel and should get a PPC emulator (JIT) for MOS PPC programs and over MOS PPC also a 68k emulator (Jit)-

So MorphOS candidates to became something like maybe the 78th or 79th Operating System available on Intel Platform 64bit being closed source and costing expensive money and perhaps running software 20 years old with all software limits of single address space 32 bit Platform (Amiga).

I love MorphOS but I don't see a bright future for it if continues in this direction.

@Raffaele

As I understand it they want to break the limitations with f.e. 64bit

But still it is just another option. We will see if they are more successful than Aros was on X86

@OlafS25

IcAROS Desktop virtualized on Linux IMHO has great potentiality, as Linux has everything but I dislike Linux very much because it is far from being friendly as Amiga.

If Trevor had would, he could had funded AROS and BeOS Haiku in order to grant Amiga Copyrights on the superior BeOS MicroKernel that has all we need for a modern Amiga System (both on PPC and on X64 architectures), adding to the Haiku Kernel the Amiga GUI, Filesystems and DOS by funding AROS developers in order make them creating this new OS in a manner similar to what Apple did wrapping its MacOS around Carneige Mellon University Mach Kernel and creating MacOS X.
With this smart move Apple replaced its crappy MacOS 9 with a modern performant OS.
But us Amigans weren't enough smart.

@wawa

Franko was one of the few sane people on these forums. If you imply I might be him, I can only be pleased. However, I am not Franko.

I am MEGA RJ MICAL and Amigaworld.net will soon belong to me.

Best regards,

Future of Amiga platform is Amiga graphics and gui on top of unix.

@ppcamiga1

"Amiga graphics and gui on top of unix."

A lot of idiotic *nix stuff should be changed or hidden.

"Linux File System/Structure Explained!":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbgzrKJvDRw

When looking at OS folders & files ... Windows in 2019 can handle 8letters, *nix can handle ~3letters.

(btw. why all Linux UI's are so crashy? Idiot developers? Impossible to target to a HW platform, when there is no standard HW platform?)
