| I remember that Font preferences could change the text color and background of WB desktop icons - but with OS4.1 FE the Font preferences program does not have that option - With a dark background the text is almost invisible - any suggestions? Last edited by NielsPeter on 01-May-2020 at 02:26 PM.

I too have the same problem as NeilsPeter.
I used to be able to see different colours on my fonts but now I don’t get the colour option either.
I think it may have been as a result of a theme overwriting any of the original settings.
FYI am currently using the Aqua theme _________________ Amigaone X5000/20 4GB Radeon RX 550 Polaris 12 AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition Update 1 Amiga 1200 Workbench 3.1.4 Amiga CD32 |

Yeah, I think it has been discussed before.
I don't currently remember what the problem was.
@NielsPeter: Have you tried saving the Font prefs (without changing anything) and then starting the prefs editor again? Just a wild hunch.
Otherwise try asking over on the Hyperion forum, I'm almost sure that was where we discussed it - pity the search over there works so badly.
Best regards,
Niels

I tried as suggested - to no avail. Reverting to standard worked (desktop icon text has gray background) but still no new options.
I'll try the Hyperion forum. Thanks for Your input.

| @outrun1978 Ah - Changing the Theme - that might be worth a Try!
Update: Tried default and a bunch of others - didn't work

I don't like to use google because of their tracking practices, but they are good at finding obscure forum posts. This worked for me:
Quote:
site:forum.hyperion-entertainment.com font preferences text color desktop icons |
Both DuckDuckGo and Startpage -- my usual search engines -- were unable to find anything useful.

| Yeah, like others have already mentioned - it's the MUI:PatchASL statement that has to be removed from S:User-Startup.
Weird - I had already forgotten that again after little more than half a year ...
Best regards,
Niels
