Great story!
A friend of mine bought an A1000 in Nov. 1985, and it was my first exposure to Amiga. Sadly, that system is no longer with us -- years later it wouldn't boot, so he threw it in the dumpster. Maybe it just needed to be recapped.  _________________

ah the memories..thanks for posting! I also can never forget seeing the Amiga 1000 in a local computer store called Comspec in my city just a 10 minute bike ride from my house in 85  _________________

Seeing an A1200 in an independent computer store running Walker by Psygnosis was my ‘must have’ moment! No Atari ST could handle that arcade fluidity and digitised sound! 
I guess the introduction of the A1000 was like that x 100 compared to green screen IBM PC and monochromatic Macs. _________________
