@AmigaBlitter

lol. playing hard to get?

For what it's worth, here are the important links all in one place:

euipo and uspto

Please note new suspension letter from December 2, 2020 for the U.S. trademark and any other new entries since I made the posting.

I know, i know...

I'm for sure interested in this.

I always dream for a Commodore + Amiga comeback.

I know Amitv. For sure he saw something on internet for asking about this...

@amitv

From 5th January 2021 it'll be HM Queen Elizabeth II.

I found this site: https://www.commodorecompany.com/

And looked up the company number at Companies House: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11843780

The company is being dissolved on 5 Jan and all asstes will transfer to 'The Crown'.

Cue scramble to purchase any Trademarks...

Commodore did very little for the Amiga other than launching it and new designs with cost reduction. They wouldn’t release the Ranger chipset and refused to launch the A3000+. Newtek did more for Big box Amiga sales than Commodore. Marketing was next to none existent. MOS Semiconductors was never invested in either. Irving Gould was a corporate greed individual.

@AndyFC

Please read my links.

"COMMODORE BUSINESS MACHINES LTD" is not the Commodore to which you refer.

That CBM (if you read the history) dissolves and reforms very often. Although the history on that site only lists the most recent strike off, there have been others.

They are the company, in fact, who filed the objections to the Commdore trademarks in my links. Simply compare the names and addresses and you'll see this.

Added: Just checked. The last strike off activity:

Plenty more to read in the thread:

@amitv

There is only one way to find it out:

Anounce a Commodore computer with the 'C=' logo.

The brand might has been split into smaller parts, for people selling phones or game computers.

Yesterday:

registered-opposition proceedings concluded

In addition the suspension letter on the uspto filing for registration is based on a delay in the Euipo registration. Therefore, the U.S. registration may follow.

prior registration for Commodore word mark

From the page link in prior post.
Now registered to Polabe with euipo.
Given their U.S. suspension notice indicating that Euro registration was a prerequisite to the uspto granting their U.S. registration, we may see a single owner soon of multiple Commodore trademarks.

Referring to the link and info given in the last 2 postings:

The information on the page changed yet again.

Quote:
Trade mark status
Application opposed

And under opposition it has changed from "closed" to "open"

In addition the nice classifications have added 2 classes.

just days ago it was "25 clothing, 38 telecommunications"

Today it has added back 9 and 42, which basically covers computers, peripherals, and software.

If anyone cares to clarify why this particular filing has changed so often lately, please do so.
So far, all I've seen is a claim of a split decision, which this document makes clear as mud.

It looks like that is the one being dissolved in UK, they had a rented virtual address in London. They have announced a lot of products but the only ones I could find was an Android game.

@mac6

first, Welcome to Amigaworld.

Yes, we have an entire thread on the company's activities over the years:
Commodore PET Android 5 Smartphone by CBM Ltd. London
And many records of the strikeoffs:
as COMMODORE BUSINESS MACHINES LTD
as CB MACHINES LTD
as COMMODORE BUSINESS MACHINES LTD (again)

My interest is only in the status of the trademark.
Yesterday the trademark status reverted to the listing illustrated in post #14, so it's being changed often.
Whether this is legitimate change or bad record keeping at euipo, I wouldn't know just yet.

@number6

thanks. i've been on here for 10-15 years, just never registered before (or lost old account, i don't remember), i come back every year. i remember the phone now, and it was kind of in line with what amiga inc tried earlier - android games. haven't read the trademarks story yet, but with regards to uk registration, i wonder if it's because of brexit - those guys don't have uk citizenship nor made significant investments, therefore the strike off at the time brexit took effect? anyway, would be interesting who registers next. obviously i'm not holding my breath and not expecting anything, the last 25 years taught me to not expect anything and always lower expectations. i'll have a read later.
