I think both your comments are a bit funny, but by all means, please go ahead and try to ”patch” or ”back port” jaca’s sources into OS4 Odyssey!

True, I have not really looked at it.
Not me, too big, don’t like cross compilers, CMake, and other stuff.
Objective C is IOS / MacOSX thing, sure its not needed for Linux builds, its optinal.
What should interest OS4 developers is any code changed to support bigeniness, any code changed to support Amiga like API’s, the other stuff is of no interest. Any code changes improve JS execution time. any change to improve rendering speed of webpage, graphic card accleration. Any bug fix related to PowerPC. | Wayfarer 2.7 is now out!
- Worked around random crashes that may have been observed in 2.6 - Significantly improved performance of various threading checks across WebKit - Worked around an issue in objc runtime that caused Wayfarer to stall during download notifications. Do note that notifications must be reconfigured in Magic Beacon as some keywords have changed. - Improved handling of websites that constatly request http auth credentials instead of caching the state

It's not really needed for my port either. I could make a basic WebKit MUI class in a few hours without the use of the ObjC interfaces. As could any OS4 developer. So go go go! |

People keep spinning their wheels about Objective C, while deliberately(?) missing the point: you did all the heavy lifting with WebKit for them _________________ This is just like television, only you can see much further. |

| Wayfarer 2.8 is now available
- Altivec code paths for a lot of WebAudio routines, optimized sin/cos computations in StereoPanner - Fast code paths for feColorMatrix (approximately 6 times faster than WebCore code) - Recompiled to fix a bug with longcalls in GCC, which caused it to miscompile the code in some cases leading to crashes - Improved the ContentDisposition header parser in WebKit - Detects expired certificates in the certificate viewer - Added a way to delete saved self-signed certificates, disabled the ability to 'trust' invalid/expired (not self signed) certificates - Fixed a regression in HTTP AUTH handling that caused downloads from password protected pages to fail |

Forgot to mention this in the changelog, but this build is also linked against a new, faster libm (library with various mathematical functions). It's been ported from Apple's PowerPC optimized sources by Piru and I.

Now that sounds cool, the internet has become a resource sucking cesspool....browsing can hardly even be accused of being fast on a 1,5GHz G4 :-/
EDIT: Oooh, I just got told there's an upgrade on startup :D Last edited by JKD on 15-Oct-2021 at 08:05 PM.

Which version of GCC ? And did you recompile GCC itself or you compiled Wayfarer with a specific command line option to avoid the bug ?_________________ Rock lobster bit me. Wayfarer and WebKit are currently both compiled with GCC10. The problem can be worked around with -mno-sched-prolog. |

Glad to hear it is not only me who has this experience! Tried surfing a bit more and everything from regular Google searches to accessing Gmail and various websites seems faster and smoother. If it is placebo, I say we keep believing it, hehe. _________________ Old School Game Blog Gaming on AmigaOS 4 Void - Amiga Demo Group |

| Wayfarer 2.9 is out now.
- Implemented Proxy settings - Added right mouse button override settings that make it possible to open the default context menu on websites that try to block it - Fixed several edge cases where Wayfarer's url bar wouldn't correctly show page's url - Added code to handle "ContentDisposition: attachment" to trigger downloading instead of displaying the target url - Fixed 'Reload' to work after a failed page load - Downloaded filename had 1st letter truncated in some cases due to a bug in header parsing - Enabled USE_NEW_THEME in WebKit to change how some controls are drawn - Default CSS tweaks to prevent invisible checkboxes/radio buttons |
