| This isn't a complaint, it's more of a commentary. I'm referring to extremely long, dense threads that go on for dozens of pages and years. You know they might be important / interesting, but wading through them is extremely difficult. If you start reading from the latest posts, you're immediately totally lost. Often they are full of incomprehensible, international legalese. Usually they require a knowledge of pre-existing events and topics that aren't contained in the thread. Recently there were postings on a thread about a Hyperion reorganization. I think "that's interesting". I look back at the beginning of the thread and find out that it happened two years ago. It's already ancient history. It's like reading that the Titanic was having trouble and saying "Those poor people. I hope they're alright." and then finding out that it happened a year ago and the Titanic was at the bottom of the ocean and most of passengers were dead.
What would be fun is if Amigaworld had a thread summary feature. If a thread got over five pages long, there would be a summary of what was discussed, who the main contributors were, what it means, and the impact on the Amiga community. Maybe the person responsible for the summary would be the one who started the thread. They would have been following it from the start. It would require some work by somebody.
Another feature that could be useful is a note that says "This thread is over two months old. Recent posts may not refer to current events." _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |

I don't know what thread(s) you are referring to, but someone attempted a recap.

| Friend thinkchip, here's a summary that is quite universal:
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
applies to pretty much every thread on Amigaworld ever! Hope you find it useful.
