From Brian's AmiWest 2021 Blog:

Today our AmiWest room rates expire. Room rates will revert to the regular "best available" room rates, which are higher.

Thanks to everyone who has reserved a room. Room reservations are running ahead of last year. This helps us with rates for future shows.

We welcome our hotel guests to AmiWest 2021! We will be there after 5 PM on October 15 for a setup reception in room Expo A. We hope to see you there to help with setup and have some refreshments.

So remember: AmiWest 2021 and associated events will be October 16-17, 2021 at the Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Make your plans to attend now. If you've attended before, bring one other person who is new to the show. If this will be your first time, welcome to the show! See our website at amiwest.net for the latest information and watch this blog for breaking news about the show. See you in October!

@AmigaOldskooler

Thanks! Packed up my office and heading to Sacramento today. Wanted to raise a few items before I head out:

1) The raffle is awesome this year, with over $1500 in items donated to the club to give away. It is open to all, not just attendees, and shipping will be covered! You can see the items and buy tickets here.

2) The stream will start at 9:30 on Saturday morning (baring any major technical difficulties) with the show starting at 10 AM PDT. I encourage folks to look at the speaker list and get their questions ready. You could post them to the live youtube chat, to this thread (let us know who they are for with @, like: "@Trevor are you going to apply to be the new wizard of New Zealand?"), or on the Amigaworld IRC server #amiwest channel.

3) The Stream URL on the broadcast page is wrong. Check in the morning, assuming everyone will log in at 9:30 sharp, to get the latest URL. There will a URL for Saturday and one for Sunday.

4) Jerry and I have but a lot of work into the banquet presentation so I hope folks tune in for that.

Ok, that's all for now. Anyone who wants to help share this information across the web, feel free to do so.

See you online!

Ditto, $10 to a worthy cause!

I turn 40 in 2 years, if AmiWest is still running then I'd love to go as part of my celebrations!

@tekmage

Thanks for broadcasting AmiWest. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort and technology it takes to make this happen, especially integrating speakers from other parts of the world. Well done.

l enjoyed the broadcast from my home town in Canada.

Many thanks to everyone involved.

I watched the livestream from the comfort of my living room. It was very well presented by Tekmage. I enjoyed it very much and was interested to hear Trevor and Steven speaking. They seemed to be on the same page and in agreement this year. I enjoyed eliyahu's A1222 demo it looks good. And I learnt some new things about 3.2 from the guy that did that demo (sorry I did not catch his name). I'm thinking I might just buy a A1222 if the reviews are good. I've had my eye on a M1 Mac but I don't want to give them my money (especially as it can't run Windows x86 VMs). In fact, I watched the Apple event today and recoiled from the dystopian slickness. In my book the meme is not "but can it run Crysis" it is "but can it run OctaMED"!

Very interesting presentation, thanks for sharing.

I wonder how did you manage to talk about all 44 slides with only 30 mins available.
