I am currently doing another update for Aros Vision. It is also planned for V2 and V4 (next project) and should also work on PiStorm.

I am really having fun with it. You can do most things with mouse. For example you can download by aminet either with FTP or with Aweb, open the archive by double click, browse in it and unpack files and start these files by double click. No keyboard necessary.

Another exmple (this picture) you can convert images supported by datatypes convert to IFF with one mouse click. mount or unpack ADF, play or view most amiga formats, open PDF files and much more. I really like it myself. Hopefully the others will that too

Great news. I've tried other versions of Aros Vision and I can never seem to get it to work. I'm on Mac OSX and have to use FS-UAE but I can never get the mouse pointer to display or it just wont boot. Have you any tips for running it in FS-UAE?

Hi Olaf

Is there any connection between Apollo OS and AROS Vision?

I really like Aros Vision and would like to use it on Vampire SA V4.

I am a bit confused about the development of Apollo OS and AROS Vision - what is from the same repository - if anything?

Thanks

@Birbo

yes and no

I was the first one starting to use the 68k branch of AROS (just after Natami project officially vanished). It was my "baby" so to say (I think 2011 or 2012)

ApolloOS was much much later and was at first certainly inspired by my distribution taking over some ideas and also using magellan as desktop. Today officially they use the original wanderer as desktop. They have also created a changed rom targetting vampire. My own distribution will certainly also include the changed rom on vampire but otherwise it should be more or less identical on all platforms... UAE, V4 and hopefully in future PiStorm and be based on the official branch.

@OlafS25

How would this compare to OS3.2?

@Hypex

that is not easy to say... I do not own 3.2 so I cannot directly compare

3.2 partly certainly is faster or has improvements in certain areas, on the other hand I have created a distribution that combines aros 68k, magellan, lots of amiga and aros software and lots of configuration. A lot of components are integrated that are third party for 3.2. Regarding desktop and comfort my distribution certainly is far ahead. In other areas 3.2 might be ahead. And of course Aros has higher demands and will never run on f.e. a A1200. But for fast hardware like V4 and UAE it is perfect.
