However, I must say that Black Books is way better

Father Ted was okay but not all that humorous.

Graham Linehan is kick ass!

You Brits have anything new?

@Amiga4000

It's all chav or Miranda type comedy now. No clever edgy comedy is allowed unless there is a social agenda or it's aimed to catch the lowest common denominator like Mrs Brown's Boys etc. It's a shame but I don't think The Office or The IT Crowd would get commissioned now sadly.

The best bet is dark comedy like Inside No. 9 or What we do in the Shadows IMHO.

@Amiga4000

If you liked Black Books, you may also like Spaced.
Two suggestions from BigD are also good choices.

Must admit, wasn't a fan of Black Books but IT Crowd, Father Ted, Inside Number 9, What we do in the Shadows and Spaced, I enjoyed.

A little bit different to those above but if you are looking for Brit Comedy, you could also try Still Game.

Cheers

"Have you tried turn it off / on"

I like IT Crowd. I think my fav comedy will always be Blackadder.

Red Dwarf is usually pretty fun.

"Worst Week of My life" by BBC was a good one, but recently I must of admit to not likely most of the new comedy shows. "Not Going Out" is ok.

"The Goes Wrong show" is likely the best thing I seen recently, but it feel like it can be a hit or miss.

I enjoyed Dark Ages, but I haven't seen it for 22 years...

@Amiga4000

Always had time for the Inbetweeners. Teenage awkwardness at it's finest.

Friday Night Dinner

Moone Boy also got a lot of laughs from us.

Thanks for all these great suggestions! I loved Spaced. I even liked Keeping Up Appearances. Poor Richard! Are You Being Served? was very funny. Have all on DVD. Definitely gonna check out Inside Number 9, What we do in the Shadows, Dark Ages, Friday Night Dinner and Moone Boy. I love that all these shows have most the same actors in them. Anything with Matt Berry, Noel Fielding and Nick Frost is brilliant too! Katherine Parkinson can be damn funny! Just like old American TV shows some of the oldest British stuff is the best!

I can hear you Clem Fandango! HAHAHA!

@Amiga4000

Now that you've mentioned Matt Berry, I quite like Snuff Box. Very weird, very un-PC, the good old BBC

Don't forget about Porridge. Older show, but funny.

Wash your mouth out with soap and water young man!

Have you watched Phoenix Nights? Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere and Peter Kay’s Car Share are all good too.

The League of Gentleman, Reggie Perrin, Fawlty Towers, Open All Hours, Only Fools and Horses. Too many classic comedy series to choose from really.

@Amiga4000

You should definitely give some of Chris Morris earlier works a watch: The Day Today and Brass Eye

@MasterMoose

I don't believe it.

I also forgot the brilliant 'One Foot in the Grave.'

Almost anything with Ronnie Barker is brilliant.
