I was honestly shocked by the ridiculous price! Haven’t they learnt anything the last couple of decades? |
I guess they just don't have the millions required to produce this in high enough quantities to get the price down. Looks like the boards sold out already, so not exactly a bad business decision. |

Considering that they apparently haven't produced any yet, I find this rather unlikely._________________ The Rear Window blog

They can still be added to you shopping cart on the link above! Rumours of a stampede at the chance to run AmigaOS 4.x are again severely overexaggerated! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

They were showing as available to order recently.
@BigD
What happens when you hover over or try to click add to cart? I can't add it to the cart from here.
I did have a cached page in one of my browsers with the board added to the cart. This is what happens when I click on the cart now.

Either they pre-sold them all or just changed the availability status for now. |

Yeah, ok "non disponible" means "not available" so maybe they did reach their quota! Good for them! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

How about an artist's rendering then?
Surely the prospect of spending the cost of a mid-size sedan on a ride-on mower is getting somebody's creative juices flowing? What happened to all the artists?

No way... 😉. True, but this time I'm hopeful that I'm going to get in November (2022!).
Im still waiting for A1222 ;), is this now 7 years? I didn't know covid was that long ago.
They should design new PPC mobo and start using old G3 and G4 CPUs from scrap metal. I'm quite sure stock would be higher that new PPCs 🤔. I'm joking, but I would not care if I had used CPU. It's not like my ReA1200 is new. |

I did. They are replying my emails for last few months (I pre-paid few months ago). No issues here. That is why I'm hopefully to get my Sam460le soon (er or later) ;). Last edited by PixelHi on 13-Oct-2022 at 12:25 PM.

| I'm curious, I thought that Acube where now handling the production of A1222 boards won't there be a conflict in interest?
Considering the A1222 was supposed to be a cheaper entry level board wouldn't this render their Sam boards surplus to requirements?

Information Theory 101.
The moment Acube announced yet another production run of a SAM460-based board, it signaled that there would be no A1222 in 2022.Last edited by agami on 14-Oct-2022 at 06:35 AM.

So it appears there was a conflict of interest then..
So is the Sam run a final cash grab stop gap until they have to fulfil their commitments to the A1222 project?

The world's supply chains for electronics are shot! We can't make SCSI2SD boards anymore, the redesign of the A1222 Plus seems impossible to make too! I'm not surprised ACube have capitalised on the gap in being able to bring the A1222 Plus to market with selling some of their old design Sam's in the meantime. Heck A-EON probably encouraged them to do so so the AmigaONE project doesn't look completely dead!_________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." it's hard have conflict of interest with yourself 😉.
I'm thinking they have stock pile of some essential Sam460 parts. Why not to use it? Sure, someday (position /maybe) A1222 will be available, until then Sam460le will make few people happy - like me. |

| I went and dig some old forum news about Amiga One 500. Price for a full AmigaOne 500 was about 1250 euro, and that was in 2011/2012.
Considering current economical challenges Sam460le is acully price quite.. well 😉.
