| Hi All, Most of my games and demos are displayed on PAL screens. My NEC Accusync can display PAL screens but not in the correct configuration. The Bottom is cut off. Even if I start my Amiga in PAL and I am using a PAL display mode which gives me a full view. Whenever I start a game or demo the screen always reverts to a too long to display PAL image. Is there some fix I can use to get them to display correctly? Or do I just need to switch to a PAL Monitor? Thanks for any help you can give me. Brad Hansen |

Hey Brad,
The problem is that a PAL TV signal is 625 lines from top to bottom while an NTSC signal is 525 lines. So, a TV monitor that is designed to display 525 lines is always going to lose part of the bottom of a PAL signal.
The only ways to fix the problem are: (1) Change the monitor settings to scan at PAL vertical/horizontal rates; or (2) Change either the source or the monitor so that they match.
(1) Is only possible if the monitor can be switched from one standard to the other. There may be some machines that can do that, but the only switchable monitors I remember were expensive, professional machines from the 1980s.
I think you will have to switch to a PAL monitor if you want to display PAL images.
