| Has anybody a link to share according to the PiStorm32-Lite or the Raspberry Pi 4b or both?

There are lots of people building PiStorm 32 Lites. I would suggest searching for a supplier close to you to save delivery costs. Simply Google:
Buy Pistorm32 lite
You could also join the PiStorm Discord channel, people are making them to-order on there.
The real problem is Raspberry Pi availability is low - I pre-ordered one from CPC in January 2022 and initially was told it would be available in September 2023. Then I was told delivery has been delayed to October, then November. Currently it’s going to be January 2024 and that might also be delayed again.
You can take your chances with the scalpers on eBay or the limited stock which comes and goes very quickly. But it won’t be until late 2023 / early 2024 when pre-COVID-like stock levels of Raspberry Pis are available again. |

| Raspberry Pi 3A+ is typically the most available today, and also the one with best compatibility, so why not get that first and then, eventually, get rpi 4 later? Then you can actually use the system while waiting for upgrade (and might even find out that you don’t really need any upgrade.)

This sounds the A1222. I didn't know AEON was behind the Pi. It's a Raspberry Tabor! |

Discord is your best bet. I recommend Fletch but many assemblers are on there. I got lucky and managed to source a CM4 despite lack of official channels! Got it working yesterday! V cool! Hold on in there it's worth the wait! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

I like to know if there is a difference between the PiStorm full and PiStorm Lite? The Lite implies a cut down version. But I don't see any details about what it means. |

“Full” never really happened due to chip shortage, the FPGA it used became rare and expensive, and so did the Raspberry Pi CM4. So a light variant was created that uses a cheaper (available) FPGA and also regular RPi GPIO pins so that almost any available Raspberry Pi can be used - including the CM4, by using a dedicated adapter board. _________________ B5D6A1D019D5D45BCC56F4782AC220D8B3E2A6CC |

Thanks. So it looks like a technicality rather than cut down features. I never bought a RPi so I don't fully understand all the talk about it and there are so many variants these days. Might have helped if I had one since now they are going out of stock. Getting as rare as an 060 now days. Last edited by Hypex on 25-May-2023 at 03:12 AM.

I have a drawer full of RPis but I have a 4 with a lovely heatsink on it which I don't use that I could plug into my A1200. How would this work, or would I have to put up with the thermal throttling? |

This eBay source of CM4s has appeared. The jury's out on where they are coming from but it worked for me!
CM4 2GB WiFi Model
Quick! There are limited available! You will also need an adapter board, IO board and a fan in addition to the PiStorm32 (and a RTC which can attach to the IO if you want to keep time)! The setup works really well though!
Not sure what the shipping is like to Australia though! Last edited by BigD on 25-May-2023 at 12:53 PM.

Thanks! I'm a bit out my depth with these Pis. All these extras things you need to get it all working. |

Yeah, well since there is no PiStorm non-lite availability, the CM4 needs an extra adapter board to work with the lite model. Also, it runs hotter than other 3A+ era RPis so needs a fan which is also how you secure it to the adapter board. The IO board was always going to be an extra for the CM4 as it has no ports itself! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." Though a lot of users (such as yourself) have set this up I get the impression this board is for experts. Though there are vendors selling it there isn't much other information available. The main page that comes up for the project is on Github and just gives design info. I can't any other basic info like wifi, ethernet or USB being supported. Nor what drivers would be needed. Nice idea but too vague I think. Last edited by Hypex on 29-May-2023 at 04:24 PM.

WiFi, USB etc is work in progress for Emu68 but Musashi has more of the ports supported I believe as does Linux. Emu68 is a bit beta at present but works very well and fast even now! Last edited by BigD on 29-May-2023 at 06:25 PM.
