Wow. Did someone actually like Trapped? I always thought it was nothing more than an incomplete tech demo let alone a complete game. It "feels" terrible in my opinion. Slow moving and muddy. Even as an engine I didnt think it was much. Trapped 2 was a step in the right direction, especially technically, but try as I might I just cant bring myself to like them. I really wanted to. At least the developers had ambition and wanted to make something other than a poor megadrive or snes conversion or bad clone of one of their games as was common at that stage of the Amiga's "life", but they needed a heck of a lot more work.
To each their own and whatnot though. |

| Maybe Faery Tale Adventure, Darkmere, or Ultima III:Exodus.
Theyre all very different games though, so its hard to pick a favorite. |

| I really liked Burntime, but I never made it until the end.

How much you have played with it? I didn't like Trapped II, as I never could figure out what I supposed to do in it. I got "tech demo" feeling about it.

Nice information :)
I also used to enjoy Space Crusade, even have it as a real game, painted a bunch of the miniatures way back in time... Still considering getting Hero Quest and Space Hulk, I know those are different games, but I think they are in the same genre. _________________

Pool of Radiance and all the SSI AD&D role playing games. Not the silver box games that are part action but the gold ones. Champions of Kryn and so on. Im playing Treasures of the savage frontier as we speak. |

To be fair I didnt play it nearly as much as I did Trapped II. I got them at the same time, tried no.1 briefly, thought it felt like a tech demo, then tried no.2 and thought it felt like a more advanced tech demo. Ive always assumed Trapped 2 had more work put into it based on what Ive played. Based on that I also assumed Trapped 2 was a better game so never gave no.1 as many chances as no.2.
I'll give the first one another try sometime soon (just received my pistorm, so Trapped will be a good test for it). Like I said I always wanted to like them, so I'd be happy to be mistaken about the first Trapped. |
