Hello all!

I just wonder which monitor model is the newest that can handle most of the Amiga 1200 built in screen modes, it does not matter if it is a CRT or a flat panel, but a multisync monitor?

I suggest you install an Indivision AGA MK3, as I did. Yes, it's an additional expense, but after that, you won't have to worry about the choice of a monitor. Take the next one you get.

I would say the Dell U2410. It's still listed on Dells website. Some turn up on eBay. It has a video input so likely why it can accept 15 kHz over VGA. No speakers but plug in sound bar is optional. The only question is how well the lace and super modes look.

The Dell SE2722H is a fairly new LCD monitor that scans down to 15 KHz. through its VGA port. It also has HDMI (but the monitor has no built-in speakers so if you are going HDMI, you have to buy a HDMI cable with an audio out). It works very well for me!

An inexpensive monitor,

@RobertB

you mean this one?

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-P2419H-24-16-Monitor/dp/B08YS29C8Z/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3C44HQFAGROWD&keywords=Dell%2BSE2722H&qid=1702514529&sprefix=dell%2Bse2722h%2Caps%2C107&sr=8-2-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

How's the display look on it? No jaggie pixels right? I mean no squared off ugly pixelation of Amiga games.

Nope. You are pointing to the 24-inch model with which I have no experience.

this might do the trick:

Just like the Checkmate cases another Quality product by Mr Stephen Jones.

Claude finally demoed native RGB screen modes being displayed via the PiStorm32's camera port this week! Very impressive that we can ditch 15KHz supporting TVs/Monitors and just use HDMI in the future! There's also a converter for the A500 that AmigaKit sells but it's not compatible with the PiStorm Rev B!

Do you know if the Dell SE2722HX & P2722H both scan down to 15Khz? The HX is the lower cost model but I don't want to get the wrong one.

I do not know about the ones you have listed. I just know about mine. The price of the SE2722H is down to $123 at Amazon.

GREAT INFO !!

I wanted a new monitor (flat) for my 1st Amiga 500, but I don't find in white .

I don't need a new one per se , a 2nd hand EIZO for example would be a perfect choice.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you, ordered one and its now here :) works very well in DoublePAL (and normal PAL modes).

After a bit of playing around I am getting better picture quality after removing the VGA Only monitor driver from DEVS:Monitors, there is no scaling visible and text is much sharper. There are still small borders on the left and right, and slightly less pixels vertically without the VGAOnly driver but the picture is sharp and the vertical banding on dark colours is reduced.
Going from a 15 inch CRT to a 27 inch wide screen is a bit of a step up, surprisingly I have ended up with more space :)

Paul.

Hey, could you post some photos how Workbench and some games look on the monitor? I want to avoid pixel stretching/distortion and I don't mind having black gaps left/right and/or top/bottom in order to preserve the correct aspect ratio, thanks! :)

@Cool_amigaN

Good point. I'd be wary of how these wide-screen monitors handle 4:3 ratio screen modes.

@Cool_amigaN

According to the manual manual you can set the aspect ratio as either 16:9 or 4:3.
