@all

Hi!

My apologies if this bug has already been reported: when rating a photo, I receive the error:

AmigaWorld - Amiga Community Portal Error

Error Code: 0013

ERROR: Could not query the database.
Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 10730, 8, '132.207.232.156', 1336495723)' at line 1

Take care!

@DaveyD

So what's erm...this new banner for 2-minute payday loans that's destroying the front page layout in several browsers?

I have exactly the same problem when try to rate. Also there's a problem when you try to post there too. It gets you back without any changes.

@amigang

Cache issue perhaps?

Does it work now?

Regarding that SQL-error, it is noted.

@DaveyD

I don't know if this has been mentioned recently (it had already been reported a long time ago, but now it's worse).
Uploading an avatar always fails with this error:
Quote:
::Errors occured::
avatar.png
==>mimeException

I've tried with FireFox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and MUI OWB. With FireFox, I tried to upload also a BMP and a JPG, with the same result.

@number6

904 bytes
80x80 pixels
3 bits

I've tried also with 24-bit versions (forgot to mention).

It's this one.

@saimo

Mine is 120x120 saved as .jpg and under 5k.

When it exceeds either of those limits I suspect browser, but yours clearly does not.

It would be nice to know if this is broken for everyone or a recent issue.

Only other thing I can think of is that .jpg savers (newer) are not recognized by the CMS. Can you use AdPro, which is what I used?

@saimo

It's a PNG file, change it to JPG, I don't thing a PNG avatar is accepted.

From my initial post: I don't know if this has been mentioned recently (it had already been reported a long time ago, but now it's worse).
I precisely meant that this is an old issue. Back then, I could upload avatars only with IE. Now that fails as well.

The picture is PNG, with all the accessory information stripped. On top of that, from my initial post: With FireFox, I tried to upload also a BMP and a JPG, with the same result. Additional note: for compatibility, I had saved the BMP without colorspace information.
I have now tried with GIF and it worked (uploaded with FF).

No, I don't have it. But even if I had had it and it had worked, still the general problem (the website not accepting all pictures, even those as simple as mine) would have remained.
Feel free to use the one I linked for testing.

IIRC, in the past I could use PNGs. Anyway, if not, it really should. For the rest, please see my previous posts.

@saimo

The limitations are in the module used. It only accepts certain formats such as gif and jpg.

@All

Wow, it's been ten years since the bug thread was opened. I thought all the bugs would be squashed in all that time. So, how many updates has AmigaWorldOS had in that time and what version is AWOS up to now?

@_Steve_

Still, for AW's sake, let me point out again that I did try JPG and that failed as well.

Amigaworld Radio server does not appear to work. Been hoping someone will fix it, but so far nada.

Could someone check for me please? - I'd like to do a webcast soon.

Thanks

Hi!
Apparently there's a bug in the news system of that site. I suppose the news order should depend on the news' date, at least it usually is like that, but this is not the case.
Right now there is a news item on top of the list that should be on position 3 instead, if the sort order would depend on the new's date.

Note:
I posted this in the wrong area first, moderators please delete this thread / post, thanks!

@Daytona675x

Hello

Thanks for the feedback.

The "A-EON Technology Amiwest 2014 News Releases" was a holding page which gets updated as we add more press releases to it

A few minutes ago additional Press Releases were added

We felt this was a better option than flooding the news pages with lots of separate Press Releases which would drown out other news.
