@pixie

You are so right, bespoke hardware would be very welcome!

Was the Peg II the last bespoke hardware? Think it was and that was a looong time ago.

I have grown fond of my PowerMac PCIe that I updated to 2.5GHz driving one 4k and one 1080p monitor. Used to hate anything Apple, but this thing is absolutely bullet proof and runs weeks without a reboot with zero drama and that is worth something.

@Matt3k

Efika perhap?
And anyways, they were not "bespoke" as they were also sold and even handed out to Linux and BSD developers... I got my Pegasos from a Debian developer who had gotten it for free from BPlan.

@kolla

That's right the Efika came out afterwards (Pixie would have known that :) )

I forgot that they went to other OS's as well.

Wrong on two counts... :)

Case in my earlier point...

Iris 1.33 just was released adding yet more features. Slow and steady wins the race, and who would be willing to dedicate 5 years of their life to code programs with no real reward. 68k+ is very interesting but would anyone be willing to put so much time into it? Maybe the answer is yes, and maybe others are already coding away that i'm ignorant of.

Most of the Amiga flavors seem focused on games, which is cool but not useful for getting work done... I see productivity as the 'new frontier' for Amigaish systems, that has at least filled my needs over the last 3 plus years. I know OS4 has some that were ported but have no idea if they have been updated and how good they are, I was already committed when I heard of that. Other than that, I'm not aware of much out there.

Excel Mini is the next important addition, it has a ways to go but is showing promise... We shall see.

@MagicSN

Are you saying that Amiga OS 3.2 will run in NG 68k Amigas?
