software Classic   software Classic : Gopherized - A Gopher client for Amiga
posted by Allanon on 17-Apr-2024 17:05:40 (1031 reads)
I've released Gopherized, a Gopher client developed with AMOS Professional :)

Thanks to some very useful extentions I was able to code a gopher client that seems pretty reliable and stable, but i need some more testers before the final release along with the sources!

Gopherized offers some cool features (for an AMOS program) like:
- Session history browsing with a cache system
- Bookmarks
- Bookmarks scanner (allow you to know when a bookmarked page has new content)
- Screen depth & colors can be customized
- Keyboard driven
- Download of files & pages
and more :)

Have a look at this video to have an idea about it : YouTube video

You can find a detailed readme in the archive with all the hot-keys used (also accessible in the program hitting the 'h' key), how to change settings, and how to use the program.

I thinks it is stable enough, but, if you want to give it a go and report any bugs you may find, here are the download links:
- Gopherized post on Patreon (free)
- Gopherized post on Itch.io (free)

Looks good! Not that I have any use for Gopher, but may try it someday.

Maybe also look at similar protocols, maybe not gemini that uses tls (though with the proxy provided with AmiGemini, AmiSSL is not needed), but spartan and nex?

echo /nex/info/specification.txt | nc nightfall.city 1900
