hardware Classic   hardware Classic : Amiga 1200: internal PSU upgrade project by Slince
posted by amigatronics on 17-Jan-2026 17:46:30 (393 reads)
Slince is developing a compact internal power supply solution for the Amiga 1200, designed to remove the external power brick and leave only an IEC mains inlet and switch visible on the outside. The build uses an isolated 220V AC → 12V DC module with DC-DC conversion to provide the required rails (+5V, +12V and -12V).

After multiple tests, Slince reports a complete absence of video interference. The latest installation features an updated fuse holder, clean internal cable routing, and an optional plastic protective cover depending on installed expansions. The system has also been tested booting with HDD and DVD connected.
