| If dancing bananas weren't so annoying and stupid, i'd put a load here for Rich, our porting machine
Once again, good work Richard! I'm sure I speak for all the OS4 users when I say your work is very much appreciated. _________________ Playstation Network ID: xeron6

LOL!
Save the bananas. Buy me a pint some time (I'll be at AmigaEast, although I'm not sure what passes for beer in NY).
Actually. It's not that great of a feat. A lot of this stuff has been lying around on my hard drive, just waiting for the update to be released...

Good work - remember, sleep is bad; keep taking that pro-plus!
Regarding the "Eject" function, how easy would it be to incorporate this into a docky, so that when you drop the removable media icon onto it, it triggers the eject mechanism? _________________

Sleep? I've heard of that. Never tried it myself.
And pro-plus is for wimps. I'm subsisting on a diet of Goose Island's Hex Nut Brown Ale and very, very black coffee.

That's possible, I suppose, but it doesn't need to be a docky does it? You can run shell commands from AmiDock.

Nice - heartburn city
I have no idea quite how AmiDock works - haven't got an A1 yet, and don't like the version of AmiDock that comes with OS3.9 So if a standard dock was created to run your eject shell command, would you need a separate dock icon for each device that you may wish to eject? Or could you have one dock icon that can parse the device from a volume icon that is dragged&dropped onto the dock?
I think that the latter would be pretty swizzy; shame that the eject mechanism for the floppy drive can't be triggered from software like the old Apple Mac computers... but then again, who uses floppies any more?
Keep up the great work! _________________

| SDL ports?
Yeah that's really native..
Of course I can't say MorphOS does any better, I'm just a little disappointed in that we have two unique operating systems which seem to garner nothing more than sodding Linux ports of games I play on my mobile phone..

| There is a lot of non-Amiga software out there. Quite many programs are surely worth using as well, despite not being developed for Amiga in the first place. _________________ AmigaOS 4 is made of people! It's PEOPLE!

I would like if you upload also your work to the official website, AmigaOS can have more visibility. _________________ ikir

| Hi Neko
Good to see you're as cheerful as ever.

Well, not strictly ports - that's the whole point of SDL, isn't it? SDL has been ported so that you don't need to port software that uses it.
Quote:
Yeah that's really native.. |
I meant native as in PowerPC not 68k.
Anyway, what's the problem with using SDL? In most cases you wouldn't gain anything by using P96 or CGX directly, so why duplicate the effort?
BTW, by your definition, are programs that use libc native?

I would think something like the following would work:
.bra { .ket } .key "DEVICE/A" eject {device}
(I get a feeling there's a line missing out of that script, but can't put my finger on it)
@the evil one Look forward to trying these once I get home.

| Hi Rich,
If you have the time, a port of Project: Starfighter would go down a treat. I don't have an A1 or access to any cross compilers etc, or I'd do them myself. Anyway, you can find it at Parallel Realities along with a couple of other games (which require SDL_TTF and FreeType to compile).
