As i understand onboard audio not have driver for now, and for having any sound you should use some PCI sound card (which for me also not good idea, because of limited PCI slots on the board, which i want to use for other needs).

But im almost sure it will be released pretty soon.

That's not too bad then. I take it you can have a Radeon HD 4650, soundcard and SATA card in the machine at the same time then?

The onboard SATA can only have 1 device - is that correct?

If I wanted the following configuration:

Radeon HD4650
Sound card
SATA card (I need DVD and hard disk/SSD)
Catweasel MKIV

Is that possible? I want to run the Catweasel as it would be great to add a floppy and convert over all of my old software as the Catweasel driver for OS4 looks very cool.

Not everyone has loafty expansion needs and a Sound Card can be used as a stop gap measure renouncing to a few extras (at least at this initial stage).

In any case, having simultaneously HD+DVD+CATWeasel+GFXcard+Sound will soon be possible.

At the moment I don't know if the PCI-E 1x slot can be turned into "standard" PCI slot using a riser/convertor.
I saw them on-line and they say they are plug and play, no question asked.
If they work you should be able to place the standard PCI sata card (for HD+DVD) on the PCI-1x slot (as I said, using a riser), the Catweasel on the standard PCI slot, and the Radeon HD 4650 in the PCI-E 4X slot.
Sound should come from the motherboard however (as soon as the audio driver is released).
It's a lot of stuff for a mobo with so few slots if you think about it.

Drivers for PCI-E 1x devices (for direct use without a riser) should also come eventually so in case the riser doesn't work as advertised, the PCI-E1x slot will come in handy just the same.

Doesn't seem to be a iso file this. Makecd and amidvd won't burn it. Anyone else got it working???

Only TFTP update, you must have another machine running in the same network. I've just update my Sam460ex with my Mac, OSX have TFTP integrated you can just use a gui like that if you have a mac:

after 5 hours fighting with update I got it! I have an router and carefully read local IP for machines. On windows machine I set SolarWinds tftp server. I Disable windows firewall and share folder tftp-root on windows machine. And transfer start work!
I found bug in new u-boot - if press key UP on system information menu - sam460ex reset....
No success with memory speed - still only 460 Mhz, some persons have more....
