Events   Events : ACGGbg's EasterHack
   posted by shoe on 24-Mar-2005 23:01:54 (4462 reads)
This weekend it's time for ACGGbg's EasterHack. If you're in the Gothenburg area don't hesitate to drop by for some friendly Amiga chatting. For more information about where & when, take a look at this thread at safir.amigaos.se forums.

See you there!

We've got some cool stuff planned, lots of AmigaONE's with OS4 running, at least two betatesters with the latest Petunia/Warp3D stuff going. Movies like Tron, WarGames, Hackers and Swordfish and the CD32 on 2m screen. It'll be a blast!

And I can guarantee this party will have lots of chicks!

It's a female thing.

Actually, she's probably puffed up to keep the chicks warm. I have suddenly realized that we hardly every see pics of hens and chicks, just flocks of hens or flocks of chicks on factory farms.

Are you going to do a video of the gathering?

I had half a mind to show up just to cuddle the hen. I prefer Mille Fleur, though. Those chicks are AWESOME

Edit: Still haven't really decided. Surely finding a bus that takes me from Strömstad to "close enough to Kungälv so I can find your place" must be less of a challenge than travelling 500km on a bicycle through Bohus and Skåne with less than 2 weeks of preparation?

Buuuuuuttt, I'm beginning to think I'll have something of a hangover in about 6 hours, so very likely not

So what are you guys doing there?

Might have dropped by earlier but the safir.amigaos.se page was down last I checked it so I didn't know where it was.

Maybe I'll drop by tomorrow? Would it be alright if I brought my dogs along then?

@steff,

We moved safir to the new server last night between 00:00 and 00:30.
Well atm kicko and reflect is watching some wierd Kung-Fu movie, I'm playing with the shoutcast server (we're live at http://live.amigaos.se:8000 webcam at http://amigaos.se:81) the rest is hanging around reading some classic AF, CU and Shopper mags while having a beer or twenty. Oh, and I told Wedin I wanted to control my $10 webcam with my miggy so he's building a control deck with Techno Amiga and a small DC motor.

Yeah, drop by tomorrow.. If we manage to fall asleep we're probably be out til after 12, but after that most of us should be up. Bring the dogs, I'd love to meet them.

I can recommend it, it was fun, even if I chickened out (pun intended :) after only eight hours.

Lol, Chicken?, Nobody calls me chicken. Hey Mc Fly!

Anyhow, i feel bad for chickening out on you all too. It all looked very nice.

I tried several times to connect to the irc.amigaos.se server but failed all
the time, was it ever online?

Hope you guys had fun. I really wanna meet some fellow amigans again sometime soon, unfortunaly this wasn't the time

(As expected, I had something of a hangover. Ironically enough I had one today as well. Oh well, can't win every time Didn't stop me from lugging the boat down to the fjord (I've got wheels on it, see) and catching a few cod , though. Just et one of them buggers, and there's plenty in the fridge...)

@Olle,

Yeah too bad you didn't make it. The irc server was up the whole time, but only on the intranet apparently. I added another nat-rule and it's been avalible since this morning I guess. Not much action in there though. We'll see what we'll do with it in the future.

@Olegil, well you'll get plenty of opportunities. We've got lots of stuff planned for this spring/summer.

I've added some pix from the party, checkit out at http://safir.amigaos.se

Until next time!

@Olle

Well I heard about these chicks early on, but since it was easter, I directly suspected fowl play .

@shoe

Well, the problem is that I also have lots of stuff planned for this spring/summer

I was originally planning on stopping by Amigbg on my way back from Bornholm, until I discovered that everyone else here is travelling _to_ Bornholm that weekend. So then it's either alone on Bornholm for two weeks and then meeting you guys on the way back, skipping biking through Bohus and going by bus/train to Göteborg on the 23rd, then starting the trip later in the evening or the next day, starting out from Strömstad the 21st, reaching Göteborg on the 23rd instead of the 25th, or not seeing you guys at all. This is going to be a tough cookie

We'll see what other things you guys plan, ok?

Ouch!

Well I managed to drop by. Checked out the chicks and stuff. Saw some 3D action and then left (I was on my way somewhere else atm).

Thx shoe for the look round, nice place!

Whatever it is I hope it's simple and nearby because I'm leaving for Shangai, China in the middle of the summer and will be away for awhile and there are things I have to fix before I go.

Do we know anyone in China? Alan maybe? Might have to get a µA1 so I have an easily transportable Amiga along with me.

@Steff

Remember to keep a toiletpaper-roll in your pocket all the time in China.
(no paper on the toilets)

When i was in Shanghai and Beijing, i had atleast WinUAE with me, and it was alot of fun, especially when going the long railway train from Shanghai -> Beijing. Also the doctor i worked with from the university loved to watch some demos on it.

Have a great time, and i hope you will enter the great wall too.

Here´s a snapshot of me on the wall:
Olle like a fly on the wall
