| Nice !
Is it correct that the only scanner tested AND reported working is the Epson Perfection 3200 Photo (GT-9800) ??
Fine, but that scanner is USB2.0.... How can it work on an A1 ?
Thanks

Oh, so an USB 2.0 photo camera or phone with mass storage option should work on an A1/OS4 USB 1.x setup ? _________________ Theres a time to live and a time to die When its time to meet the maker Theres a time to live but isnt it strange That as soon as you're born you're dying

Good luck while trying this software with your scanner! Would be fine, if you could give me some feedback if it works or not.

What do you expect? I have only one scanner and the two other people had only a few scanners available. I couldn't find somebody else, who liked to test Sane. On the other hand, Sane is well tested under Linux and my tests confirmed, that it basically works under OS4. There is nothing more I can do.
So give it a try and make a test

| @Metalhear: I haven't used OS4 much (and only on my A4000) but i suppose as that how it works in other OSes. Last edited by fryguy on 22-Dec-2009 at 11:21 PM.

I expect nothing....
Just making sure I understood it correctly ! Wouldn't be the first time I bought something that 'might' work, but didn't.
Good work though, don't misunderstand me !
So how about that USB2.0 thingy then ??

Sorry, I did not want to be rude. The point is: It is hard to find someone, who works with OS4 and has also a scanner, which is supported by Sane. The only thing you can do is to try.
To USB 2.0: As said above, it is no problem to use an USB2 scanner with an AmigaOne. This is something I can say for sure .

The chances are low. I would have to rewrite the whole SCSI code and I have nothing here to test. And I'm already working on an other project (AAMP), sorry.

| @CynusED: I can´t do that yet. It will be another few months until I can afford a SAM. My AmigaOne went bust over a year ago. |

Aah, too bad. Hope you will have more luck with your new SAM.

As far as I know, Acer is renamed to BenQ now. There is a BenQ 640U in the list of the supported scanners, so it should work . But I cannot guarantee, that it works in my Sane port. _________________ X-5000 PPC 5020/2 GHZ, Fractal Define XL R2-Tower, OS 4.1 final update 2, 4 GB, Radeon HD 7770, ESI Juli@ XTe SAM 460ex/1,15 GHZ, OS 4.1 final, 2 GB, Radeon HD 6450 Amiga 4000D/040 25 Mhz, OS 3.9 BB2, 272 MB, X-Surf, 250 MB ZIP
