Hardware News   Hardware News : The new AresOne is available
posted by phoenixkonsole on 20-Aug-2010 18:19:48 (7071 reads)
What should i say... i'm glad and i think with all the discounts i offered it is a bargain

Available only at www.vesalia.de

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4S9xzKqNnY

The Ares project started in 2009 to bring
AROS enthusiasts and beginners a powerful but inexpensive AROS-compatible, preconfigured system.
Now we are proud to show you the next step
in AROS power computing.
The new revised version of the AresOne is
faster, smaller, more individual, but not necessarily more expensive.

From a 2.7 GHz single core(which is in truth a dualcore Athlon64 x2 with an deactivated second core) up to a mind-blowing
6 core CPU (remember you can also use Windows and Linux), everything is possible.
Starting with 1 GB of RAM, the AresOne can hold up to 16 GB of DDR2 RAM at 1066MHZ or 8 GB of RAM at 1200MHZ.

To allow you to start full steam ahead, a comprehensive software package has been added:

A-Live X Software Pack (includes Cinnamon
Writer and a Keyfile for Frying Pan) plus a free bonus DVD with IcAROS Desktop.

AMIGA MEDIA CENTER (AMC) - The ultimate
Media Center solution for all Amiga systems.
As soon as AMC is ready, you will get it as a free download. You can buy the AresOne in a nice media center case, too.

Amiga Forever 2009 OEM includes Kickstart and Workbench files required for the Amiga emulation, upgradable to the full version of Amiga Forever Premium Edition at a reduced bundle price.

Also you get ArtEfect (68k)

Optionally available:
Keyrah, Catweasel MK IV

You can choose between IcAROS desktop and AROS Broadway

To make thing cheaper for you i offer the following discounts:

I. On www.ares-shop.de:

1. If you register yourself on www.ares-shop.de you will get a 3% discount (lifetime) this includes the order of an AresOne on www.vesalia.de (in this case you get the 3% back from me) (THIS offer ends with august 2010 - this month)

2. If you bought A-live X already you get the money back if you buy an AresOne on www.vesalia.de (You get the money from me BUT you don't get A-live pack again with the AresOne you ordered)

3. A-live X is now cheaper. The Physical package costs now only 18.90Euros(7Euro less) and the download version 15.90(3 Euro less)

4. Also i offer Soundblaster live cards for 10Euro including 12 month warranty, for those who have a unsupported onboard-card.

Another way to save 3% is to make a new AmigaFuture subscription but please wait until this will officially announced in the next AmigaFuture.

http://aresone.de/

Oh and one bonus will be that i have 3 Audio Evolution licenses to give away.

During the comming week every already registered customer will get also the 3% discount for the future.

BUT you will get max. 3% off + the money back for A-live... you cant add the AmigaFuture discount to the sum!

All offered discounts will end with the release of AmigaFuture 87, if no deadline is written above!

Best Regards,
Pascal

Hmmm ... Do not understand this, why would we buy a PC machine with AROS, which is free?
The theme of AROS, and AMC is one of the ugliest I've seen, you should get some real graphic artists to work with you if you will ever get it. AMC is a good project, but to promote it with an entire PC hardware will only become a dead era.
You guys should just focus on the AMC to AmigaOne for OS4 and perhaps MorpOS which I am not really friends with through their ugly history.

But I hope I am wrong, and you manage to sell loads of these machines. If you do, I'll ask open with videos of all apologize ... With best regards Shastar.

@ Shastar

Firstly, WTF you on about saying Ugly?

Is it OS4, MOS or AROS you were reffering to?

Secondly, if its all three OS'es u dislike, then why are you even posting on here?

Thirdly, I may have misunderstood, and you may actually like OS4.x and MOS, and was just stating that you dislike the history between them.

Cheers

@ AROS people,

May I ask why we would buy this hardware, when one can download AROS? Or is it for users that simply want to get a new PC, and you figured these users may want to have a duel boot system?

DO you make all your AROS machine Duel boot with a Free Linux Distro?

If not, then, would it be fair to assume there may be people out there who buy this machine from vesalia, then simply format the hard disk, to install their copy of windows on there?

Sorry, not wanting to sound negative here, just trying to work out whos buying these machines, when they could go down to the local "Black Market" also known around here is "Swap Meets" and pick up hardware for cheap, then install any Distro they want on it!

Is it because your machines have that wonderful Helmet symbol, for the hardcore AROS users who would like to see there native symbol for their mostly used system perhaps?

Thank you for answering fairly and not taking it the wrong way. I myself am an part time AROS user, Amiga OS is my fulltime naturally, and was simply trying to work out who may be actaully buying these systems.

Cheers

To understand that you have to imagine the following scenario.
1. People in need of a new PC or an second PC
2. People wanting to develop on AROS natively or simply a AROS enthusiast.
Combine 1 and 2. Maybe no.2 is an utopia

Not everybody but many have, my machine has 3 operating systems to choose from at startup. Windows 7 & XP or AROS.

I don't know if we have ta assume that but It's a free world. If you don't like AROS you can use the machine as any ordinary PC no money wasted.

The PC from the black market isn't 100% AROS capable until you tested it yourself.

Do you think anyone would do that ? Buy a new machine just because it has a nice logo ? That would be funny.

But yes of course. AROS rocks, and all that right?

If your PC doesn't boot AROS maybe ? This one does.

Yeah, yeah I hear but it's still just a matter of taste, and I heard AMC will maybe be able to have skins so later you can maybe show your own for us to see.

Which they already do of course. AMC is supposed to be for the whole "Amiga" family.

Someone is selling PC hardware under the guise that you can run a free to downlad Amiga-like OS on it...

Hands up anyone who already has a PC and internet connection at home?
I already have a Kick-ass PC thanks and I'm saving up my cash for a REAL AMIGA, an X1000 with OS 4.1

@Kronos
Yummy Bait :P

Did I ask for your opinion in whether an X1000/OS4 combo is a real Amiga? No... but then again we all know your opinion as you seem to want to tell everyone about it at every opportunity.

To me it is, this 'news' is just someone selling PC hardware to suckers who can download AROS for free off the 'net and run it on their own PC hardware.
I wonder if I should buy up a load of old dell laptops, remove the dell branding, call them 'Amigo Ones', Stick AROS + an emulator on there and sell them at a special discount...

@Wizzard_o
hmm
AROS doesn't run on every PC. Network, SATA, Sound and Grafic are hurdles. Especially S-ATA.

Trust me this is just a bonus for AROS entgusiasts. And it is fast. The 2.7GHZ Sempron is faster than an X2 5000+, why? It runs with 2.7GHZ and has 1MB cache. The 5000+ has only 2.2GHZ per core. So for AROS it is slower.

You have to get a bit esoteric : )
If you go to the configurator on Vesalia.de you can choose a MediaCenter-case wich gives you a really good MediaCenter powered by AMC. It plays 1080p h.264.

So what? Also you get the bonus that everything comes preinstalled. Got to the next local store and let them have a look for compatible hardware, let install them AROS (i doubt they now what they are doing), add AmigaForever (including installation), let install them ArtEffect( which costs too), and buy AMC and a FryingPan key, and ask them if they will give you AudioEvolution for free.

My oh my.... what i'm doing here is a gift to the community

The price is low as hell and for a few bucks more you can have a faster CPU (for Windows/Linux)

Why you should buy mine?
Well you save money, you get a 100% working system, you get many candy in your..... and you fund further AROS development. That's all.

Don't see it as another PC in the wild..... it is done to run AROS.

Oh by the way, the Mainbboard rocks, you can plug in every AM2,AM2+ and AM3 Cpu in AND it supports HybridCrossfireX (Windows/LInux).

If you dislike it, just press the ignore button : )

Best Regards,
Pascal

One thing about AMC:
It is 100% skinable. You are free do make your own skins or download additional ones.
Oh and i can say that i like Trevor and i hope he me too : ) He will show AMC on the X1000 soon.

I really don't understand some people.

ARES One project is dedicated for beginners imho, who they don't have the necessary knowledge with AROS itself as well as the compatible hardware to run it on.

So, it's a good opportunity for them to grab a cheap x86 AROS dedicated machine to try by themselves. Simple as that!

The rest is history.

I think its really cool, a dedicated Aros machine.. You can also dual boot, so no problem if you need something else... Thanks for the good work, its really tempting....hehe

Thanks,
it is really meant as a gift or a easy start for newbies. I won't get rich nor Stephen with his Imica. It's just another contribution to help AROS growing. I like the new baby really much : ) Aros flies on it and the board offers really much. It comes with the latest official Bios and support really every CPU available in the moment (AMD). The case shown on Vesalia is just one option... i prefer the MediaCenter cases. But you can see the basic one here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCOU5n6aWV4&feature=related
You can also see the Software bundled with it. The IcAROS DVD and A-live X are professionally printed discs : )

here is the boot up with a Geforce 8400 for Gallium3D support.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLXzjcgmVLU
Without Geforce (just with onboard ATI) it boots in around 3 seconds.
Please stay tuned about the ATI chip......

Since we will need soon some beta tester for AMC i think about to invite the AresOne customers (old and new)

Oh and if someone likes he can "later" setup his Startup to go strait into AMC.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbKlNLywPkc
All videos where made with an X2 5000+ which is under AROS slower than the 2.7GHZ Sempron!

As one of the most experienced AROS users, I must say this is the way to go.
I had so many complaints about this is not working , this is not as fast as it should be etc..

What you get here is a fully AROS compatible computer that will also run the 3 big OS, that you must have, since either AROS, MorphOS or AmigaOS can do everything you want these days.

The hardware here is stunning. It will run every x86 OS with amazing speed.
There is also nice that you can do future upgrades easy.

Phoenix; I see the price on the basic model is very low. I don't understand how you can sell if for that little. I guess that the radeon hd gfx is on the mail-board. Just as a suggestion I would try to find a board with nvidia gfx since that is what nouveau and gallium3d supports.
