@broadblues
Checked last version on update4 (but with AISS 4.11 through, not AISS 4.12): have no crashes at all while plays with all the possible options, layers and so on. Through found that when i choice "create layer as white" (via + button) it make a chess-kind area (transparent imho), but not white one.

But in others, even if it a bit simply now, its already usable. I also run cpu-metter in background to see how fast all of this works, and its all is fine:

- 1% of cpu loading when do nothing
- 1-4% of cpu loading when i choice brush of 1 pixel of size and pain fast-fast
- 1-15% of cpu loading when i choice brush size to 300 , and move fast-fast

In compare with OpenGL's LodePaint, which 100% load cpu and give about 15fps on that operations, its will be very-very nice replacement for me.

And as it have arexx support, i think about making to context menu something like "save as jpg", "save as png" options, on which via arexx i will sayd to editor save-and-convert. So then it can be just usable even as fast editor-convertor.

Hope it will mature more :)

The filename at os4depot has ben updated. Here's the new link.
New link

@all

Thanks for the positive feedback!

@Kas1e

Yes, found that glitch whith the white background, last night just after uploaded, haven't checked why yet, but I'm guessing on a missing break statement....

The good thing is that you normally want to add transparent layers over the background, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue to start with, and ofcourse it will be fixed, before the next update.

As you have tested CPU suage for drawing is quite good, if you try scrolling a large project though.....

Do you use that with OS4? I'd (pleasantly) suprised if it worked!

Currently my UCLogicTablet driver works. I'm think of added sensitivity curves to that as a next step.

@broadblues

No I never used it with OS4 but i will give it a try on my A1XE when back from hollidays. I will tell you the results.
Maybe yomgui author of gribouillis3 on MOS could help you on tablet support. I never used it but i read that it supports quite well wacom tablets.

@seblam

I don't need help on tablet support I wrote the UCLogictablet driver

As long as the tablet uses the NEWTABLET input.device messages, it'll work (only pressure is supported in SketcBlock as I don't have tablet with tilt, not really sure what tilt should do to a painting operation).

The wacom tablet needs a driver though. I doubt it'll work with the UCLogic USB driver.

e.g. support for special brush shapes that give different line (ends) depending on the tilt. You could use this for e.g. calligraphy.

Nice and fast feeling while doodling...
But I`ve uncompressed the file in RAM just to test it and it created an ENVARC variable... (I think this is the Registry Hellraiser... bit by bit )

What enarc variabale? Pretty sure I don't use any in SketchBlock, directly. I can't see any on my ENVARC: (except APPDIR: which is a system thing)

Andy, I'm distracted from Amiga stuff by a couple of other things, but trying out your new program is at the top of my Miggy things to do in a few days. I haven't even had time to install the OS update, for goodness sake!

But, as always, thanks!!!

You`re right, its an AppDir file. I`ve run it again and created an entry. A utility that deletes all ram: entries should be useful
Anyhow the painting program is very responsive.
