 | | Great! Looks like an excellent piece of hardware.
I should really save up for either one of these or a 440ep-flex. I have yet to actually use any AmigaOS 4 hardware.

Yes there's a PCIE x1 slot, but if you use it then you cannot use the on-board SATA port, so you will also need an SATA card in the PCI slot.

 | | There was a discussion on Amigans.org a while back with someone suggesting to use the internal USB port with one of those USB Sata controllers. This way one could place a Sound Blaster in the PCI and a Radeon Card in the PCI-E without worrying about the HD.
 I wonder if it's doable...

If i were you i'd go for the 460,cos of more memory, faster cpu and the pci-e slot.

Maybe I'm not entirely awake, but using a PCI soundblaster and a PCIe Radeon wouldn't mess with the SATA connector anyway, so why worry at all?

 The chip used has:
x4 PCIe (this is the correct way to say it: "by 4 PCI Express")
 AND
 PCI
 AND
 x1 PCIe OR SATA

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

I wouldn't be surprised to see booting off PCIe SATA cards in a future uBoot update...
