Well, I agree that an OS4 native truecolour app is needed, but when you need to edit 8-bit images (as I often do for various things), PPaint is my application of choice

PPaint is by far better than any free or bundled program you get for Windows.
I created my web-icons in PNG format with it. I was lost when my Amiga broke. It created transparent PNGs when the IE couldn't read them. I will buy a classic Amiga (eBay) and an AmigaOne only for the graphic-apps. I miss those comfortable programs.
To me, this is an important step made by Amiga and Cloanto to create a native OS4.0 graphic-app. And nobody has to learn a new GUI, because nearly everyone knows it.

Maybe it does, it's been forever since I tried it. But if it does, why does it only support 256 colors? I guess these are two separate issues then? |

'Cos it's a palette-based pixel editor, not a photo/art image editor. It's important to keep that simplicity for it to be useful for the tasks that this type of package is good at (and IMHO that truecolour packages are not). |

| Good NEWS indeed! As has already been said- actual-pixel editing is a strong point of PPaint! Much of what I've captured with screen-grabs has been colour-reduced in PPaint, if the file sizes are TOO large!
In addition, PPaint's own Screen-grab facility is the only one that I've found to capture open Menu boxes on WB!
