Phew, I thought I'd done something seriously wrong myself! I had a quick go with ImageFX, then rebooted, only to find no Amidock, and a series of requesters telling me OS4 couldn't find the following files: |
In that case, I feel somewhat confident to add that the 4.5 full release CD has the same peculiar behaviour. At first, I just thought that I had missed unchecking/checking something, felt like quite a moron, and proceeded to recopy the lot from the OS4 CD. I felt like an even bigger idiot when the same happened when I tried to install it on my Classic, since I think I remembered seeing an option whether or not to install any SYS: files, and I simply disregarded myself as a complete arse for missing the same thing twice.
So, either we're all a bunch of moronic idiot asses, or that installer doesn't really behave like it should.
But I'm starting to think that this here little app is well worth any tiny hassle with the installation (it's not even close to being a showstopper, merely a bump in the road), and the subtle hint that a native port might appear somewhere down the line is really encouraging!
Not only encouraging, but really, plenty super-cool!
And, even though I've already bought the full release (and don't regret it for a second!), releasing the Lite-version for the OS4-community is well worth a round of applauds! _________________

The installer will be fixed, we will upload a new version to OS4 Depot.
The reason for the problems is that we took the existing IFX Lite release for a certain other platform and altered small parts of the installation script. Not the part that copies, but rather text parts and checking code for a registration number for the other platform.
On AmigaOS4 some parts get overwritten, and although it seems easy to recover it shouldn't have happened. We apologize for this.
As for the title on the program's screen, well.. it shows what the other platform was I guess
It will also be changed in the next upload.
Best regards, Ron Computer City |

While your modifiying the install script, if you use 'SetEnv ImageFX/JPEG_Smoothing SAVE ON' in your first run script, you won't need to put the setenv line in the s:user-startup _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

| @ComputerCity an the rest
Do you, or anyone here for that matter, know if there is available a scanner plugin that can connect to a scanner shared through saned running on a linux box? That's how mine is set up here, and I'd be willing to put out the money for ImageFX if I can get that to work. _________________ This posting, in it's entirety, is the opinion and/or statement of the author and does not reflect the views and/or position of this site.

| I am now peeved... After playing with IFX lite for a while, I've discovered that NONE of the ppc stuff works, it's NOT OS4 native, it's PowerUp code requiring the ppc.library. so don't expect any of these to work...
jpeg loader jpeg saver Bubble Clouds Fire FxForge GaussianBlur Lightning Liquid PageCurler
Basically anything ending with .ppc or .elf won't work :(
Another thing that really bugged me was limiting the display to 8 bit and using CGX drivers instead of Picasso...

| | None recieved at os4depot. If you're unsure if your upload completed check the "uploads" link in the top menu after you have uploaded a file. It will list all files currently waiting to be approved.
