@Debaser

Too bad the road is going in the wrong direction. OS4 is AmigaOS natively on PPC. The Dragon is not PPC. Doh?

@x56h34

But I can't reuse the Mediator, can I? Oh well, it's a moot point for me anyway, as I'll be only running OS4...

I think it's really cool and if I'm in a good enough retro/classic mood I might get one. My current Elbox Tower is a bitch (it's partly home made). But like you say there's no way in he%% I would invest in a 'classic' system unless the Dragon itself was on the shelves.
And besides, the ACK-OS4-enabled-card is also a runner up. Alongside with Elbox's own Shark. You might complain there's to many options here, I say great! Bring'em on!

@Yssing, getting a brand new A1200 Magic pack is ~1200SEK and no problem to get hold of here in Sweden.

Cheers,
/shoe

Not really. The Dragon is based on Coldfire and there will be no OS4 for Coldfire according to the Friedens pervious posts.

Ah..was not aware they went on record saying no chance in heck. Oh well.

I understand that but the classic platform doesnt have many options. It would just be nice to be able to run OS4 since we might see the A1s demise as a platorm (Eyetech's comments).

NO worries.. I just found your original post a bit crass .. I can't see any reason why to down play any deleopment for either NGAmigas or classic. Hey and besides its not even out and might never be released anyhow.

I like this Tower! The Elbox always make good products and i'd really like to buy one of them for my amiga 1200, but i already have one good tower, the PowerComputing Case and i have already a Mediator with Voodoo PPC SoundBlaster 128Mbram.. The Only thing that i want for my 1200 is the os 4.0 !!

@ Foody
Very correct, .....I really like what they (Elbox) is doing ..with the exception of a few extra's that OS4 addresses , The OS3xx is nice ..and I would be happy to just use it .

I'd like to understand all of Elbox's products a little better ...But they have never answered any of my questions, but between them and Vesalia maybe I can build a Amiga workstation?...I'm just weighting the price differences between that and a new Mac... If Elbox did answer my questions I would feel more confident in the support of their products...I wonder if there are boards for a good drawing and animation system, that work with a 1200? I'd like to build a 1200 that had the attributes of a Amiga 3000 or better. It seems that a 1200 with all the add on would be a neat little system ...especially for people like me that don't need all the flash and uncertainty of a new and yet unproven (buggy)system...

@olegil:

I not sure if this is what you were reffering too?:

• Amiga Inc. and Elbox Computer Ltd. announced working together for Amiga OS 4.0 and beyond for SharkPPC G3/G4+ cards

@Foody

It's a G3 or G4 processor on a PCI card for Mediator users.

Check it out at elbox.com, (they are able to explain it much better than I am!).

Looks nice. It sure would be better home for my A1200 than this old Infinitiv tower which has already seen it's best days
